ASUS' pixel-crunching monstrosity, the dual-GTX 285 MARS 4GB (http://www.techpowerup.com/?96137) was unveiled earlier this year at Computex. It claims to be the most powerful graphics card ever made, as it packs two fully-loaded GeForce GTX 285 GPUs which are factory overclocked, and equipped with 2 GB each of GDDR3 memory (4 GB total memory). The card further edges GeForce GTX 295, by using 512-bit memory interfaces for each GPU. The card further carries the clock speeds of GeForce GTX 285, at 648/1476/2400 MHz (core/shader/memory).

Fresh information suggests that that this limited-edition graphics card is another week away from shipping. 1000 units are produced in all, and the company doesn't plan on making any more. What's interesting however is that most, if not all, of these 1000 units have been pre-ordered and paid for. Enthusiasts don't seem to have a problem paying US $1250 (1250 EUR) for a piece, its price. Below are some tasty press-shots of this really tall accelerator, fully assembled. I believe there was only 1000 units available to begin with. Doesn't matter, these people are getting skinned alive in a few months or however short time it takes for nexgen to own it. I don't see Marz lasting long enough for the 1300 buck investment outside of a depreciable collector's item.

I'm sure a set will pass thru the top-overclocker's hands tho, maybe Gunny will get a crack at it on Team PURE??? hehe

Honestly... these things should never, ever be cooled by air. They shouldnt even cost what they do.... i would say 700-800 at most. I have no respect for anyone who buys one of these cards considering the speed difference between it and the GTX 295 is not worth a 130% price increase. Honestly, its retarded. ESPECIALLY considering that the GT 300 and Radeon 5800s are coming soon. Just pure retarded.

I'm sitting here and lol'ing at you guys, in my part of the world the price is puching $1800 and its actually successful! I dont think Vivi's getting one but I know 2 guys who've ordered theirs already, and a few more rumoured.

I'm still amazed at the pricing, one could just easily SLi a pair of 295's for that price, or even tri SLi a couple of 285's, and still have change... Hell if You SLi 2 295's you'd have enough cahs to get an extra 275! Madness I tell you, madness...
