Finally got around to uploading my benches from the AMD Phantom LN2 pot runs. Not to bad for a AMD OC noob but I am learning :)
Besides a TWKR this is the very first chip I went for bench results. Now I feel I did pretty crappy as I am still learning about RAM timings and drive strengths, NB freq and all that jaz. These chips really remind me of old school over clocking.
That and I do not feel this is that great of a chip and I feel I could do a lot better.
So another project going on now that I must get done, then this 965BE goes back on the Cascade for some fine tuning.

Hah hah nice. one days worth of submissions almost matches my total :(

Though I must say that because of AMD's poor showing in benchmarking applications, poor OCers like me save some money by not having to hop platforms.......
And nice results.........

Well many believe that benchmarks are intel/nVidia optimized...
Last nVidia product I bought that I was happy with (aside from old ass PCI vid cards) was a nforce4 chipset for my socket 939 :)
It was almost as good as my VIA K8T800 pro chipset :)

That has to be rumor only??? Atleast ATI cards do very well in all the 3d benchmarks.....

actually most of the 3dmarks work better with nvidia cards

No, despite even having having more powerful hardware, ATi gets fux0red

He is about what it breaks down too according to the Bot.

01 Single - Nvidia
01 Multiple - Both
03 Single - Ati
03 Multiple - Ati
05 Single - Both
05 Multiple - Ati
06 Single - Nvidia
06 Multiple - Ati
Vantage Single - Nvidia
Vantage Multiple - Nvidia
Aqua Single - Nvidia
Aqua Multiple - Both
Ati = 7
Nvidia = 8
Pretty much almost equal in my mind with Nvidia just barely in the lead. Of course this will all change with the new generation coming out soon.

Redirect to the 965BE chip :)
This is actually a pretty nice CPU and performs very well. Chew over on XS has been doing a large amount of testing with his and you can see how they hold up with Air Cooling, he is working on Phase right now and pretty much beating me up score wise HAHA :)

Dunno what you are looking at
Except for 3d03, its all nVidia?
Hmm of course, how does a 295 count as a single card?
Multicard, ATi definitely has it, but we all know SLi sucks...

I must add here that this chip can run very hot.
When I was testing on the 2 stage cascade at 5.7ghz I could bring the cascade to its knees when running wPrime 1024, it was to much load for it.
I think 4.0ghz - 4.2ghz can be had with Air Cooling and a bit higher with WC, but if you really want to hit high benches you will need to go max LN2 temps.
When I used the F1 as a test it took a lot of pours to get down to max temps. Then sitting at -190c and a full pot of LN2 I would start the bench runs and the heat load from that would make the F1 boil over very fast.
So with the F1 you are looking at having to really baby sit it and keep a steady pour of LN2 into the pot while benches run.
The Phantom could handle all this with ease as its a bigger pot so no worry about boil over, plus it has the volume of LN2 that can keep it at a nice steady max LN2 temp without any worries.
I do not know about the Venom as I have not tried one yet. But I love how the Phantom performs at extreme LN2 temps. You can see all my results on the thread I created on that.
But as noted these chips do but out a fair amount of heat at higher OC's, maybe a bit more than a Core I7 setup. But on the flip side a Core I7 cannot handle max LN2 temps and doesnt seem to scale very well when pushing on the cold.
I saw no real differance on my 920 D0 at -130c vs -90c as far as a OC goes.

Man I really don't know what you are looking at but if you open each bench result there is a category for single and one for multiple. So you don't see how in 06 multiple class ATI is on top? Or in 05 multiple class ATI is on top? Then in various other benches it is a bag of mixed results like 05 single and 01 multiple where there about an equal amount of Nvidia and ATI's on top? I got my figures from taking the top 6 submissions from each bench. Open each up and look at both single and multiple card submissions and you'll see. There was only one bench where ATI was dominate in both single and multiple, 03. There was only one bench where Nvidia was dominate in both single and multiple, Vantage.

Yup I clicked the link you posted.
01 and vantage top 20 single cards are all nvidia, 05 better mix top card still nVidia, 03 is all ATI.
I did say ATI scales better in multi cards, that is due to fail on SLI part not because the benches are ATI optimized.

Pretty much if you want to be on top right now you need ya 2 - 295's and at least 3 - 4890's. Well that and an 8600 and 975 or equivalent unlocked i7 cpu. Team those up with at least DICE and you should be good to go. :D

That is the problem with the 965's. They draw too much power. That is why I think I will go with the 955 in hopes that it isn't quite the beast as the 965.
I think the extension for the F1EE would help combat the spill over. Thank you for pointing this out. I will be ordering an extension instead of a whole different pot for it. What I can't try to save a lil money here and there? LOL.
