Sorry to all my fellow benchers as it looks like I am goin underground for a bit and doing some gaming. When I come back I have some stuff to show. I am currently upgrading my laboratory. Mounted my monitors all the wall and all! Also I am stackin my chips(hardware LOL) too. Still lookin for that withdrawal device but I am afraid I will have to pay full price. Also gettin me a dimas tech station next week. I went ahead and purchased another PSU so I can just have two complete builds as I am tired of rockin my HP for a back up. PSU was all I was short of another system. Also I have a 955 BE AMD build in the chamber too and in the end this will be my everyday driver. Anyways here are a couple of sneak peaks of what is to come.

Nice stuff, love the Dewar there, fits very well in your area :)

All is good and taking a break is a worth while thing to do, gather yourself back up and get back in the mood to bench.

Gaming is fun also and puts all that hardware to good use :)

Speaking of Dimas bench tables, I threw my rig back on the DT as the TJ07 was just getting to full of stuff and hard to work on.

What a bunch of junk on the table HAHA :)

Thats the Classified and 965XE at 4.5ghz 24/7 main rig :)

Nice. Got enough HDD's?

Yeah I have been admiring the Dimas for a year or more now and it is time to get one. I say I am going to use my soon to have AMD rig for my everyday cruiser but if i get that Xeon then I will fire back up my DFI and put the 920 in it for my everyday cruiser. Problem with that is the Xeon I want will set me back a grand so that might be awhile. I just can't wait until my next house as I will have a room just dedicated to my addiction. Until then it is the closet. It working great so far.

Enough HDD's ????

Only about 4.7TB's not counting the SSD raid

Actually I am going to resetup a WHS and put all that stuff in that. Its far to many HDD's for a main rig.

Wow I thought running 3 with no raid on my benching rig was too much (2.5TB storage)

It is nice to take a voluntary break once in a while :) (It sucks when it is involuntary :( )

Hopefully sometime around the 10th (school starts back up yeah!) I will have some more free time, and will have an i7 rig as well, so I can get my little mitts on that community pot and abuse me some hardware :) That should help make up any boints you may lose during your hiatus :)

It's not a matter of needing some time or needing a break as I won't be doing either. I'm just going to shift my focus to more gaming than benching for a bit. I do this every year as all the good 1st person shooters start to trickle out from Aug - Nov. Pretty much in between titles when I beat them is when I will bench. Also as stated I have at least $2 grand of stuff to get until I can get to goin on my benching because pretty much my 920 is tapped out so I need a new CPU. Between that and a withdrawal system for my dewar I will be out $1600!!! :( I also want to pick back up some 4890's as well as a 955 BE AMD and mobo. God I hate computers sometimes as they are the true gateway drug!!! :D

Which 4890's are you going with?

I would love to get the XFX Black Edition 1000MHz overclocked but they look like they will never come to the US plus they will be too much. To be honest I will prolly get whatever is cheapest that isn't factory overclocked. Hopefully when the 58XX's come out the 49XX's will drop a good $25 or so.

Yep, I'm holdin out for 58xx's and gt300's, maybe...........

Cant mix gaming and benching??? I like to mix both up specially when benching doesnt give expected results.......

Whats a balanced gaming benchmark test? I hear Crysis benchmark isn't all that indicative of performance. Anybody run it at 6ghz?

Balanced Gaming benchmarking test? hmmm...Actually real games do not benefit from CPU OC @ high resolution and mostly benefit from video card overclocking,

The guys doing the AMD PII demos last december were running crysis bench at 6+ghz. It was cool to see, but not much of a point to it

I have found running between 3.6-4ghz is usually best for what I have done. Anything above that has netted marginal gains at best, and usually nothing performance wise I would ever see.
