what is it going to get to? Wouldn't there be a time where it just can't get any smaller? Anyhow 1billion transistors

A billion is nothing on such a large die. AMD is packing 2 billion on there new GPUs. And coming in 30% smaller than nVidias last gen.

I was thinking only CPU, and on top of that forgot about the card. Still, what I say is will they just keep getting smaller? Don't you think eventually it'll just not be possible to keep shrinking them?

I think by then, they'll move over to lase/ray tracing technology. How do we overclock a raytracer????
Prolly by boosting the output or somethin, prolly get more efficiency by cooling the laser. SPeculation, all of it, muhahahahahaha

Yeah I think intels projections predict around 11nm to be the last shrink... but thats not till 2018 or something, and by then newer tech probably means even smaller

true, that's what they predict with todays tech, with tomorrows tech, god knows.
