Here is some good news in the GPU sector, Intel is finally showing off the raw numbers from Larrabee, and it looks to be very fast. :Hi:

During the recently held SC09 conference in Portland, Oregon - Intel finally managed to reach its original performance goal for Larrabee. Back in 2006, when we first got the first details about Larrabee, the performance goal was "1TFLOPS@ 16 cores, 2.0 GHz clock, 150W TDP". During Justin Rattner's keynote, Intel demonstrated the performance of LRB as it stands today.

Are these gonna be worth a crap for gaming or is intel really going after nvidia's workstation market?

I'd say initially do not expect these to be used for gaming. If anything i'd expect these to be for GPGPU and CAD applications. The biggest problem with coming out with a gaming card is getting the drivers to jive right with so many different games. As a result of this, i don't think we'll see a gaming version with this initial release.
