The Vcore boost and Vdrop modification works perfectly. I'm happy since this is my first time with a solder iron. I managed to do the mod, and everything is working fine.

The Vcore mod scales very nice when you bump voltage in BIOS. When I sat 1.6v in bios I got 1.68v Vcore, so I can finaly get 2v out of my Commando. Without the seriouse unstable Vdrop..it pops around like popcorn without this mod.

My work.. First time I've soldered a motherboard or any other electrical circuits.

Hit up punx around here. He should be able to help you in that area. Wish I could get my hands on a Commando.

I see, i will send him a P.M, thought I don't like to nag people.

As you probably see, the two first pictures are the same Vmod done by same guy, the 2nd one is a bit different, and looks easier to understand. But I guess, there are a lot of different Vmods out there for the Commando.

EBay, got a few. There was a brand new one one there a few days ago, Retail.:)

I got this board in Norway brand new from store, but it was pretty expensive for such an old MoBo. I bought it for 330$ USD...heh.

those mod points look a lil tight make sure you have a very fine tip on your iron for sure.... adjustable temp iron/soldering station will help alot.

if it is an older board you can have alot of trouble getting solder to stick.

what exactly did ya need to know?

Aye, I will look for a good one. I know a guy which own a TV and radio repair store. He's always helpfull, and I could probably borrow a good soldering iron/station from him.

It's pretty new, bought it brand new this summer. I think it could be one of the last revisions of the Commando. It had a pretty awesome bundle:p

So resistances are self tuned by adjusting the screw? And you use a volt meter to adusj them, right?

About the last picture, it's easy to understand. Should I go for that method?

And about Volt read, if I solder a cable onto it and fasten the end of it into a molex, I can read the cpu voltage with a volt meter?

Thanks, Kriz.

Been training on a old router board today, I got a pretty standard soldering iron, which are a little to big for MoBo and GPU's. Anyway, I feel it was king of easy. Soldered some grounds , a few caps and some cables to random components. It doesn't seem very hard tbh. Just need some patient and a good iron.

Doubt you need to be a rocketscientist for volt modding a Commando :p

This method..

Or will this one be better?

Okay, first these two.

Will a 47k work instead of a 50k?
Which is ground, - and +?

This is my 100k one:

I'm really unsure how to tune these ones, but soldering the cables seems like a piece of cake.

This is my Equipment. + cabels.:) and MoBo

have you put your multi meter on the vr? Cause if I remember rite the middle pin does nothing when moving the dial. But when you test the outter pins you should see results using the dial.

In this pic their is 2 wires to each vr. http://tom.drunken-student.co.uk/commando/commando%20Vcore%20Vdroop.JPG

"1) Green wire: can go to the middle leg or an outer leg of the VR. doesn't matter. Connect the other leg to a ground. I used the ground on the fan header you see on the lower left of your picture.

2) Black and white: Connect one wire to the middle leg and the other wire to the the outer leg of your VR. doesn't matter which goes to which. Neither of them connects to a ground. No ground is necessary in this mod. All this mod does is add your VR in parallel to the existing resistor."

Which of the cabels from the fan header is ground?2510?

Aye. It's doing like other voltmods. I can get around 1.68v if set 1.6v in bios. So I probably got voltage for over 2v now. Gonna try that Cedar Mill 347 this weekend on dice.

Not bad my friend not bad at all.

Thanks a lot Nip. :)

Nice chip, I have one as well. Gots me a Celeron 352 as well as Pentium 641 as well. Just need to score me a Commando but don't want to fork out $115-125 for it. Looking for a $75'er like I paid for my P5B Deluxe, may it rest in peace. http://www.smileyhut.com/sad/rip.gif
