So yesterday got the GD70 + 965 C3 for some AMD testing, but seriously this is my first AMD after around like 5 Years? or maybe more......and have to return it back within a week or two, so no time to learn as well
Any help or tip with ocing on AMD??? Gonna put it under LN2 next week, buck looking forward for your inputs, any specific AMD tweak that I should be looking for???
Hoping to crack atleast 6.2Ghz, oh and I dont have a temp. probe yet, though it should be here by next week but I guess with AMD its not much of a concern???
Also for 3d Test, I have seen some of the AMD setups doing more damage than even i7, so what are the specific benches where I can run AMD setup??? Dont wanna waste my time running benches which I have already cracked with i7 on 5.1Ghz.....

GD70 is not a Giga board ?
I have only used Giga boards. Dial your RAM in nice and tight before you start, remember MEMTEST is your friend :)
But just pour LN2 until its nice and cold, 6.2ghz should not he that hard to get to I would think.
I did this on Dom 1600 RAM so if you have better you should be past that np

Okies, thanks, Mine is a 1600Mhz Trident as well which have done around 2200Mhz on i7....so hopefully ram shouldnt be a limiting factor????.......

Well you will be real lucky if not impossible to get that speed on a AMD board, but prove me wrong !!
Bump that NB volts up and have some fun :)
That was my biggest mistake for a long time, until I became fearless and said screw it, lets she what shes got ;)

Have been able to do only 4.3Ghz on air, though not sure whether I am ready to drop LN2 on this setup but doing it anyways today in a few hours, Bill has sent some nice Bios screenies as well, hopefully will be able to atleast learn a bit about AMD ocing today......

4.3-4.4 is easy on air with low volts (less than 1.5)
1800+ ram is tough.. tune for tight timings,, ,and recognize what the NB needs to run that early... cuz it will mean a lot later..
HT voltage.. you would not think needs being upped if you keep htlink speed down.. (cuz it improves 2D performance) but it helps with bus speeds. crazy but true.
keep htlink speeds down for 2D and at around 1300-1600 for GPU processing in the OCed 4850 CF range. (its what I tested) if bus clocking.. higher ht link speeds can help you get higher speeds (remember its a cohesive unit) but its going to drop efficiency...CPUZ yes high HTLink.. .spi/wprime/pifast? low htlink... unless you are benching them at the CPUz speeds (which most do not)

wow thanks man, would keep the tips in mind, would not have thought about upping HT volts if you wouldnt have said it....
Did my first LN2 session, my temp. mounting system broke under LN2 just after getting this result in, so hopefully would be able to run a full battery of test next time......
