Good afternoon everyone-

We had hoped to have these shipped out today or tomorrow, as that was
the original ETA provided by Intel for our receipt of the processors.
Delivery has been delayed, however, our latest information indicates
there may be a hold up with customs, but we aren't sure yet. We're
working with Intel to get these in hand ASAP, and are currently
expecting mid this week. We'll update everyone once we have a definite
shipping date.

If you have any questions/concerns/comments, please feel free to respond
to this e-mail. Thanks!

Oh when it rains it pours...

Hello again everyone-

Good news and bad news: The good news is we have a shipping date - the bad news is it's Wednesday 4/1, due to some unforeseen delays in the allocation/shipping process. An unfortunate consequence of our trying to cater to these specific requests is that the process does not always go as smoothly as just ordering "stock" components from the regular distribution channel, as it requires coordination with many people along the supply chain. We're very sorry for the delay, and are doing everything we can to get them in as quickly as we can.

That being said, if anyone does not wish to wait, we completely understand, and we'll be glad to offer a full refund (including the original "non refundable" $5 deposit). For those that do wait, we'll be including some little Core i7 Goodies: Pens, magnets, tear pads, and lanyard cards.

We're extremely sorry for the delay, but we'll get these shipped out ASAP. As usual, if anyone has any questions, please just respond to this e-mail. Have a good day!

Yep. They were the Samsung versions as Newegg got the Elpida's in yesterday for $154.99. Picked me up a set of the 3x1GB. I have it here in this thread.

Damn that sux.... The same thing always seems to happen to me when it's something I wanted/needed yesterday. When i'm looking for parts most of the time I try to find them here in town where I can walk in and walk out with them in hand.... even if it's a few dollars more, unless the online price is just too good to pass up. But I live in the big city so most of the time thats not a problem.

Well mobo is broke. Upon opening it I noticed that it was packaged wrong as the box has a window in it and you are suppose to see the mobo thru it. Well it was in backwards so you couldn't see the mobo. I pull it out and put it on my tech station just to see a broken piece on it. I quit.

OK I feel better it was in the box correct. For some reason they have this window that should show the mobo but doesn't because they put it in there backwards. I ordered it from motherboardpro.com.

Just talked to them and they are a bunch of chumps. I knew I shouldn't have stepped outsde my newegg box on purchases like motherboards, gpu's and psu's. They are trying to tell me that we will have to send it back to the manufacturer in China. BLEEP that as I didn't pay for a broken motherboard and I damn sure didn't pay for a broken motherboard that has to be sent back to the manufacturer to get fixed before I even used it.

Well they have just been removed from the list of places I will shop with. I understand that is how dfi works but they should have protection for their customers like freakin replacement boards for rma

FFS, we should make a externally viewable thread about bad retailer experiences so everyone can see that shit.:mad::mad:

Well I wrote them an email back saying that sending it back to the manufacturer for repair wasn't an option and that I didn't pay for a brand new mobo just to have it repaired out the gate. They wrote me back and clarified that DFI has a facility in California but that they wouldn't be sending it there and sending it back to me but that they would either send me a new one or refund my money. I told them to refund my money. Going with the egg this time. Will post back when more details come in.

Here is there email. Hopefully I can get a reund. All else fails a new mobo.

Travis-
DFI has a facility in California. It has to go to them as they are going to
have to give our money back as well. We were not planning on trying to
repair the board that was damaged. I will do the RMA for new replacement or
credit/refund, whichever you prefer but it does have to go back through them
especially if it is damaged. I have sent an email already, they are not open
until 12 est. I expect to hear back shortly after that. If all options are
possible, do you want to do the refund?

Thank you
Melissa

I get the impression that they would have just screwed you if they could have.....even attempting that kind of thing is BS. The need to be posted in the Hall of Shame so they pay a price for attempting that kind of crap.

That is just the opinion of a mean old bastard though....

How about a R2E that toasts your i7 965 and i7 940 because the power plug has intermittent connections......Asus doesn't replace the chips.

OCZ sold me crap RAM and tried to get me to just take the loss and go away until I sent them links to my rigs so they knew I wasn't an idiot. They replied with appologies and an expedited RMA because they knew some bad publicity was coming next.

I have no sympathy for retailers or manufacturers with shady business practices or poor quality control. I say shame on motherboard pro and DFI. If they knew they would be getting some bad publicity they would probably be more willing to make things right for Nip.

None of the stuff we buy is cheap, in fact most of it is top of the line and it should be in working order.

DrNip
03-26-2009, 01:14 PM
Well I just paid to have it shipped to California to the DFI plant so they can see it. Don't know what to think of all this and don't know how long this will take either. I am ready to buy another one at the egg but don't know what the verdict is going to be and definitely don't want to end up with two of these if they don't refund my money. All I can do is lay low for awhile I guess.

I was so pissed at the end of the day when I came home I yelled at my dogs and my girl all because of this place. They all forgave me because they knew the shit I had been going thru with this place. Rule of thumb, do most your ordering thru Newegg because they have about the best return policy there is. There are a few others out there that I trust to but my man shit stain is Newegg. Buy.com is another good one that usually has great prices and I have been thru there RMA process before and it is great.
