Sure everyone has seen the new Matx case from Silverstone but they have a new item available now to combine a ssd with a standard hdd. I may give this a try when I do the micro build. :)

Got one coming from Tiger - What would be a reliable app to test before/after results?

I'd like to see some PC05, HDTune and Atto bro. Looks like a neat piece of hardware.

WTF? They started off comparing it to a velociraptor, and half way through the tests dropped it out and put in a 640GB drive?
Looking at that article, I don't think the technology is ready yet.
But TBH I am not that impressed with my SSD either.

Do a PCM5 HDD tests and a Vantage HDD test suit to compare before and after.

OMG how freaking annoying.
Would be great.. if you are going to pronounce S-ATA you pronounce it correctly. He even says SATA DATA cable, pronouncing both words complete differently so its not some regional accent.

Vantage -

http://i434.photobucket.com/albums/qq69/rickss69/th_SSD.jpg (http://s434.photobucket.com/albums/qq69/rickss69/?action=view¤t=SSD.jpg)
A nice increase in performance with the ssd enabled.
PCM05 -
http://i434.photobucket.com/albums/qq69/rickss69/th_PCM05.jpg (http://s434.photobucket.com/albums/qq69/rickss69/?action=view¤t=PCM05.jpg)

The ssd blistered thru PCM05 compared to the hdd alone.
HD Tune -
http://i434.photobucket.com/albums/qq69/rickss69/th_HDTune.jpg (http://s434.photobucket.com/albums/qq69/rickss69/?action=view¤t=HDTune.jpg)
http://i434.photobucket.com/albums/qq69/rickss69/th_HDTune-1.jpg (http://s434.photobucket.com/albums/qq69/rickss69/?action=view¤t=HDTune-1.jpg)
The ssd still shows improvement but notice the sharp drop...I believe this is because of the small size of the ssd. You make the call.
CineBench -
http://i434.photobucket.com/albums/qq69/rickss69/th_Cinebench.jpg (http://s434.photobucket.com/albums/qq69/rickss69/?action=view¤t=Cinebench.jpg)

Unsure of the CineBench results...
Atto -
http://i434.photobucket.com/albums/qq69/rickss69/th_ATTO.jpg (http://s434.photobucket.com/albums/qq69/rickss69/?action=view¤t=ATTO.jpg)
http://i434.photobucket.com/albums/qq69/rickss69/th_ATTO-1.jpg (http://s434.photobucket.com/albums/qq69/rickss69/?action=view¤t=ATTO-1.jpg)
The Atto test revealed a gain for the ssd, tho not as great as expected.
Conclusions:
I am not sure if I included the correct tests or not. There does seem to be gains with the ssd "piggy backed" to the hdd. Is it worth the effort? I will let other's more knowledgable than myself make that decision. I do like how the ssd wakes up the always sluggish Win7 OS...I think I will be using this on my upcoming micro build.
