Red = vgpu measure point, green (http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=215224&page=4#) = vmem measure point.

GTX285 VGPU and OCP mod
Here is the VGPU mod for nvidia GTX285 to start with, I will update the thread as soon as I have the OCP mod image done.
I will also post some more info from our Tri-SLI benchmarking at CeBIT 2009.
! IMPORTANT INFORMATION !
These mods have been tested, BUT I take no responsibility for how you use
the mods and what happens to the card. Make sure the cooling is sufficient etc.
The soldering order is crucial, make sure it's done exactly as the images show.

This is how it looks when soldered to the card.
http://www.nordiccrew.com/crotale/vmod/gtx285vgpu2.jpg
We ran 1.4V+ and no sign of OVP.
OCP will trig at some point and here is the mod for that:

That's vmem. Which vgpu do you think is best? Crotale? That one is a little more advanced.

Heck if I know. I'll post that up when I get home. If its too complicated this puppy is going to you barring you have the time to deal with it. :thumbsup:

Alrighty, the PCB is the one in the pics above. The mods other than the OCP seems pretty darn easy. I'm just worried about the OCP and Vgpu being so close. Either way I'm gonna order the trimmers for all three mods.

I would hold off on the OCP till you find out if it hits. Just my 2 cents ;)

VR's ordered to do the Vgpu and Vmem mods. I'm gonna take OC's advise and not worry about OCP right now. I got a bunch of stuff going on this week, but hopefully by weekend or early next week I can freeze this card.

looks good to me chuch :)
What are you going to use as the ground for the read points? The hole at the top of the card?

Yah I just stick the probe on the pci bracket for ground. Works like a charm :)

Sorry about thread hijack, but I found my own way to vmod GTX 285 :-D
:threadjacked:
So final "modifications" list
Stock VRM:
* VID Vgpu to 1.55V
* Vgpu VRM OVP adjusted
* Vgpu VRM OCP total adjusted
* Vgpu VRM Added capacitors
* Vmemory EN signal assertion NPN removed
* Monitoring chip FAULT pins disconnected from VGA PCB
* Vmemory VRM Vout adjusted by VR
But in the end stock VRM was totally disconnected from card :D
Extra VRM:
* EVGA The Untouchables board (700+ RAW power, 10channel Volterra VRM + 3channel DrMOS based 100AMP+ VRM)
* Digital controller for setting necessary volts for power
* Lots of thick wires :)
* Lots of extra tantalum and alu LowESR caps on VGA PCB
5 PCI-E power connectors :cool3:

Just pretesting

This with 900MHz GPU and flying high memory 1440MHz BOTH with GPU! Not possible earlier with stock VRM on this card even with -160°C.

:welcome: Tin. It's so awesome to have you over here. :D I still gotta order my caps. If I post up some pics will you explain for me and everybody to know why/where to apply them? Also, you care to share your vmem mod? Measuring with DMM the VR suggested isn't rated high enough. Plus I'm wondering if you found an alternate mod spot.

That looks like Master Shammys little board wired up to that puppy, so that right there may make it difficult for us to duplicate :blink: absolutely ingenious work and an awesome job of wiring though :)

Sorry maadawg. I was talking about his mods prior to the untouchable. Wouldn't it be nice to have one for your fermi though?
Ok, my eyes just fell out of my head.... I want one of those boards. Will it work with any evga card, or is it proprietary to the 285? :shock:
