Happy benching log......

FYI for you phase users, I added another two Koolance washers to the 1/4 inch copper block under the evap head. I'm getting much better temp performance than ever. I highly recommend doing it.

You got a TIM sandwich on all of those?

Wish I had a solide 1/2 inch copper block, it'd be perfect.

Looking at this close as I prepare to get my board insulated and set up

do you think this would be as effective for a single stager.

My chillyone evap delivers the cold but has a hard time maintaing temp due to its constrction and design ...

Think this could go a long way on 1024 Prime and 32m SPI

Anyone have a link to where I could get a 1/2" solid copper block ..... ?

Petra's tech shop carries 1/4 blocks if in stock. Could just grab two?

Wouldn't be as good as a true 1/2" block though

Gotta hit up a local machine shop... then lap like crazy.

Looking great homie!! See what stress free clocking can do for you? ;)

Yah, but I always end up wanting more cold...........

I'm gonna stick to my guns tho, next session I'll be comparing the GTX1 sticks in triple channel to these Perfect Storms and seeing if there is any benefit at all to running them. If not, they go for sale and I look for another set of ownage sticks.

To compete at the top level, memory looks to be a critical component not to be overlooked.

indeed mem speed and subs give you that extra little efficiency, seperates the men from the supermen

Seems to help the MOST with load. If you evap head can handle and is tuned for your load, no worries. But if your unit is suffering under load, this is the fix for sure.

Indeed a huge help with the load.... gotta remember though that it takes a little longer to cool back down after the block warns up though... I was able to get a few extra mhz out of the 920 under ss with no problems.

Makes insulating/mounting a little easier too. Well, at least for me. ;)

Talked to shammy about it this morning as he's got a ton of experience with Cascades and phase change. He says it can also be used to mitigate cold bugs when yer unit gets too cold for the chip.

So, initially u may have warmer temps to get around teh bug. I haven't probed my spacers to determine if there is any temp loss (increase) vs a direct mount.

Yea that is what I was thinking 32M and 1024 Prime .....

My SS does very well but it loses some ground in those benches ..... especially 1024 ...
