I was thinking about getting a new X58 mobo without spending too much money. So far I've got my eyes set on the Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R which is about $200. From some reviews I've read it sounds pretty solid.
It will be about a month out till I'm able to pull the trigger and thought I'd get some feedback on what people thought about the board or a different mobo. I'll be using my 920 D0 useless I find a great deal on the 980x. Looking for the most :gun1:for my buck.
Since Sandy Brigdes production is going to ramped up I was thinking of hold back from buy a high-end mobo.
Any thoughts, comments or feedback are welcome

Thanks everyone for speedy feedback  I'm just comming off the EVGA x58 758 (non classy) I had some problems with it. Couldn't get a higher blck than 215, even with DICE it was like putting my head in a vice. It's dead anyway and can't be RMA'ed.
So I'm little stand-offish from EVGA atm but I'll keep an eye out on ebay
The 758 is missing a ton of options in the bios. Classies are better built all around and have an ass-load of options to choose from. e758 = gamer, Classified = bencher.

To bad you had a bad experience with the 758 ... it is what is in my grinder ATM
Seems to be fine up to 230 ....
But the Classy is in a differet league all together .... IMO
Have to beleive it will eat the UD3's lunch
edit:
Wait a minute you are an eVGA Enthusiast:blink:
what gives .............

EVGA Enthusiast, I was till I had 3 RMA's with the 758. It should have only been a one time RMA, the mobo they sent sent me died within 2 hrs of booting into windows. Not to mention I have 3 260's, I've sent my 260 SC in about 3 times and can't get a card that will oc past 700mhz core clock. The first 260 I bought clocks to 830 core on water.
The bad part about buying a used Classy is they won't RMA if needed. Unless I buy from someone willing to do the RMA. Also if they find vasloine in the socket its another $30.

Get banished :ohcrap: noooo what would I do then? lol maybe join the OCA ;), my focus atm is Hwbot. Whatever hardware for a decent price that can produce points is what I'm going after.
If I went for broke on the mobo it would have to be a new EVGA 4-sli. Shammy has tons of bios tweaks and updates over at Kingpincooling.com.
900 points

I have run SS, DICE, and LN2 all without anything in the socket.
if you are good at prepping and sealing around the socket you wont need anything in the socket

I can concur, countless ln2 sessions no vasoline in socket ever I hate that shit gets everywhere. Only place i do it is lightly in PCI-E slots when benching 3d cold

I see everyone likes the classy. So how does a 4-way Classy for $300 sound? ;)
Say's it hasn't been used and has a 30 day return.

Agreed again! If you have GF who is able to tell the difference between 760 and 762 you should hold on to it for your life!
ROFL... gotta love a woman that fetches parts... I wish mine would do that. Instead I have to get my own, then explain why I need to spend $$$ on whatever it is I just bought. Good board, good chick.... I love it when a plan comes together. :D

Thanks for the comments guys :), I'll have to let her know shes cool on the OCA forums. Shes a pretty hot little gamer chick as well
Got my 4-way classy today the board its self was bowed in the middle and the nf200 heatsink was bent down somewhat. So I bent the heatsink back, I was pissed at first seeing the board in such bad shape. Although everything works great as far as the bios and windows, all the pci-e lights come on. I was going to try all the pci-e slots just to make sure before making a choice to keep it or send it back. I read from Kingpingcooling.com other people's 4-way boards were bowed aswell.
Plan on doing prep work when I get more used to the board. A few things I haven't gotten to look at yet. Need to look more info on 4-way prep can't kill the board or I'm SOL.
