View Full Version : P55A-UD6 and the 2:8 divider with elpida hypers...

I am having the most retarded issues running my elpida hypers on anything higher than the 2:6 mem divider. I run into a wall right around 850mhz on the 2:8 and the 2:10 just ain't happening. Plus my BBSE's will run tighter timings on this board for some reason. The funny thing is that I can punch it down to the 2:6 and boot in the 240's for bclock with no problems at all. :Dizzy:
I have tried everything I can think of. Auto subs, loose subs, tight subs, straight up guessing subs. Every now and then I can boot higher than 850mhz with like 8-9-8 but that's like 1 out of 4 boot cycles. Any suggestions? I'm dying to really step on the gas with this platform before it is retired to go into my outlaw's new rig.

Sorry I forgot to mention that I am using Mushkin Redlines 2ghz 8-8-7 sticks. By looking at the bot it seems all the "nice" scores are on bios F7d. I can't find a working link to d/l it though. Anybody got one?

It has to be availible on their site ...
If no better luick, do you have any other sticks you can try ?

iirc, that bios isn't on the site last time I checked. I will go look again though. Ya I got the doms with BBSE which work great in this board. I just want them fancy timings the hypers will get me :)

Eat a dick!!
I don't have any settings man. Hell this morning I tried just leaving my ram with everything on auto (9-9-9) and Once I hit 1760 she wouldn't boot. I keep getting the oc fail bs. How about you give me a screeny with cputweaker so I can try to copy some subs. ;) I am almost certain that its a spd thing with these sticks. For reference, they have no trouble running memtest at 7-7-6-19 at 2000mhz on X58 classified.

Chuch, i5 + 2:8 or 2:10 is really IMC dependent. It doesn't matter how good is your RAM and it really doesn't matter the BIOS settings you use. If the IMC is weak you won't be able to clock your ram pronto!
But sometimes you have a strong IMC and limited clocks, sometimes you have a weak IMC and a super clocker cpu.

2:8 and 2:10 is perfectly fine with my BBSE corsairs. Plus that cpuz Splave linked is the same exact board. Literally, I bought it from him ;) But still I have no issues with the Corsairs on the high memory dividers. IDK whats up.

Weird! But maybe you're on to something, I never tried anything but Hyper's on my setups, maybe it's time to give promo's a go on them...

Well I have mushkins and they are not on the qualified memory list. I don't think any manufacturer qualifies their sticks. I see other guys with hypers pulling off high clocks on this board. Obviously most of the time they are running corsair. I need to find me a screeny with cputweaker so I can try and manually copy the sub-timings. I have also pm'd Stasio for the F7d bios since that the one all the big boys scores are with. Sadly his link is dead at tweaktown. Hopefully he will hook me up.

It may be because I have 1gb sticks its way less stress?
Try jacking up the subtimings like read to write and write to read to 12 or so. I booted loose than cpu-tweakered down.
Also what qpi multi you using, I remember the board being picky

F10 seems fine but all the good results at hwbot are done on F7d beta bios. You know how things are nowadays. You gotta have a special bios to get anything done. ;) Plus I want to see if this helps my hyper problem any.

Already done that this morning. Dinos says stasio is the one with access to the ftp files. Just waiting on his response.

Sorry buddy no good news yet. I only had an hour to test before stopping. Just got done with my interview and shall resume beating my head on the wall tomorrow. I was able to "post" a few mhz higher, just not much.

Im having almost the same issue with my P55A-UD4P. Cant post anything over 1600Mhz (well tried 1640, but still). Tried with two sets of ram, and I know my ECOs shouldnt have any trouble up to 1900Mhz. Ive loosened down to 9-9-9-24 with extra vdimm and nothing. 1600 cas 7 is stable as can be with 1.4vdimm though.

Cecil what IC's do the eco's have? I looked all over the place for some sub timings to try out. I found a couple sets that are a little looser than anything I tried. I'll post them up when I get home. I just don't have time to try them.

Rumor has it a lot of those 1.35v kits are hypers. I guess they didn't pass the high mhz bin so they went for the "green" stuff.
Here is some subs I found. Hope these work out for you. I just don't have the time to try.
