Looks good to me
6ghz wprime 1.7v 1.368vtt

CB -150c, CBB -125c

Weird thing is If I jack vtt up the cold bug goes way down to -115c.
This is on r3e 704 bios, will try a newer one later. Im pleased so far

vtt thing a little weird? any thoughts on that?
thanks men!

My current A-batch is like that. PLL 1.52 and VTT 1.41ish = no cold bug. Higher gives me wicked coldbug. Problem is that it cripples my Uncore clocks.

Does the cb go lower if you run dual channel? Mine behaves totally different between dual and triple.

Mine goes colder with dual channel. And the uncore likes it better.

CB is the same dual and try. I was running 1.85pll will try lower but ran out of ln2.

6057mhz passed at -130 1.72v :) didnt save the time though and ran out of ln2 more tomorrow

1,85 PLL is way too much for any chip, try lowering your PLL to 1,45 and start from there. PLL and VTT is pretty much the main reasons causing cb to processors. If you had a -130 coldbug by using 1,85, then at 1,45-1,50 you will have no cb at all.
If you are lacking stability, try raising you PCI frequency to 110MHz or even higher.

My current chip is crap, but benchable for 3D hardware boints. As dread said, lower is turning out better.

Used VTT 1.30 and PLL 1.50 tonight to keep CB away.

hmmm...I have always run PLL at around 1.8 and more, and ofcourse had a bad CBB, need to run them again.......

Yeah Im a PLL cranker as well! Time to give the PLL a break and see whats different there. :D

Ditto. I tried lower PLL and it made no differnce to me... (but I was not freezing mine except with 10F air :) )

I assumed it was why my chip is still alive after all this nuttiness :)

Best it can do on the EVGA board, maybe another board? http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=1424041

Is that the real vcore? If it is, you need to go to www.undervoltaholics.com and post up a screeny. :P

Didn't scale any higher?

it cb @ -150, I been trying to get the results that Rom and Splave have been getting on the B batches but it just won't do it.

I was gonna post the voltages but I'm just too disgusted atm, lol. I'll give it another whirl in the morning when OCMaximus gets here.

Man why oh why does there have to be such a variation in clocks on these CPU's?

Did you try the trick with two dimms instead of three?

Splave

kal you are where rom is it looks like, can it wprime at 5.7 1.7v?

I think this batch I have is brand new, cant find any info or results on it.

Duder, I feel for those fools on UT3 tonight. I took out my frustrations something awful. :morpheus:

so I played with CB a bit on my lunch break (30min rofl)
settings that dont change,
145x35=5ghz
1.725vcore
1.74vdimm
ich + ioh = 1.325v
triple channel

1.3vtt 1.45pll -141cb
1.35vtt 1.45pll -141cb
1.35vtt 1.55-1.6pll -150cb

messing with dram ref voltages +25mV to all no change
Dual channel no change
increased vcore to 1.85v no change.

any other Ideas? :) playing more tonight
does rtl's have an effect?

Patch

My current chip is weird. Had more coldbug issues than usual, but got more out of its IMC than ever before by keeping VTT at 1.30v. 1.3v??!! It's almost like each 980x is a completely different platform than the others. Absolutely no setting consistency.

yeah man its crazy, no ht cb is -145c at best ht settings

ln2 mode makes shit worst for me since the newer bios updates.

going to try the 1005 in a bit latest official.
if it sucks will try 804, on 704 atm

Splave
10-10-2010, 06:14 AM
does not like over 4.6 uncore at all, probably because I cant raise vtt over 1.4v

sooo sacraficed some cpu mhz for more uncore the aq3 way

With slower uncore passes 6225mhz but score is slightly lower :)

Does cb change when ram dividers change?

Splave
10-11-2010, 03:23 AM
nope but will see how high the wprime settings for 03 and 05 :) go

I have this same batch that I got back from intel yesterday as well. I did an ambient test and it doesn't seem as good as my 3003b242. I'll try some ln2 this weekend and report back.
