Well just told the bossman that my last day will be nov 19th  feels so weird, hes always been great and supporting of my computer hobby lol always asking me when ive been up to and giving me everyday off ive ever asked for so it really sucked to pull this on him....He wished me well and said is excited for my new opportunity :good:
We are moving to alden ny to some baller new townhouses that just got built. Def upgrade. Going from 700sq ft to 1400sq ft plus garage  I will now have a garage work space and I get the front bedroom for all my computer goodies (GF says eraser is not allowed in the house I ruined the carpet in our apartment rofl)
Im going to be opening my own optical studio in the footsteps and insight of my mother who started her own highly successful practice as well. Already have a building picked out in a prime location, price is right and thats the ball game. All the start up fundage is comming through my parents and my gf's mom that all believe in me to be successful. "pay us back when you start making money comfortably."
All I need to do now is find a new ln2 source, maybe just get 150L dewars rented and delivered to the business. oh and some other stuff to I guess ;)
Sorry for blog post but wanted to update my bro's

Alden eh? Your gonna be in my backyard now man! I can give you a couple LN2 suppliers that are only a 15-20 min drive from Alden. Both are located on Broadway (route 130) in town of Cheektowaga.
FYI, I live about 20 mins away from your new spot (at most).

Good luck with your new home and the new business opportunity. I hope it is successful. I just went through some similar life changes as my wife recently took a new job and we relocated back to Atlanta. The uncertainty and newness of everything is both a little unsettling and exciting at the same time.

Good luck at the new homestead. Yer a Yankee!
You shoulda moved to Texas....lot's of folks here need glasses. They drive like they can't see anyhow. Too many hit the D instead of the R in the voting booth too. On the other hand maybe they're taking off the glasses on purpose....lot's of beefy women walking around here that you don't really want to get a good look at.

Man prices are all over the place for ln2. I wonder if we could just set up an OCA national account and lock in a low price for everybody?

10-29-2010, 02:21 AM
There all over the place like gas is. Can't call it. Some people have it nice while others have it rough.

Yah but a lot of it is a matter of who you deal with. When I was living in Lexington, I would get two way different prices between the two airgas locations. I am just wondering if we can get a national account locked in at a specific price? Set it up to where you pay as you get it and everyone gets to enjoy cheap prices no matter where they live. Say Kal locks in 50 cents/L at his airgas so that's what we pay everywhere. Just give them the OCA account name.
if someone has a business account with them you get it cheaper also but idk about if someone else from another state could use it

I agree, I mean if we have +10 guys going to airgas they should let us setup an account with a base price right? Its like we have 10 locations rofl

Well where I live natural gas is big. So naturally there are companies from all over the place trying to get a piece of the pie. They use ln2 by the tractor trailer load to frack the wells. I would almost gaurantee they have a national account to lock in prices no matter what state they are in. I'm saying we could pool together with our buying power and get some economy of scale. Most likely I am just having some wishful thinking, but if Kal say incorporated this site there is your business. ;)

10-29-2010, 03:54 AM
Yeah if LN2 was a buck a liter or less I would be able to do it. Hard times the next couple of months, gotta finish some stuff so I can get some money and get the 160L rented :) There is no Airgas around me though. Closest is next state I think.

10-29-2010, 05:23 AM
I have a business account with Airgas and it makes no difference in price. My company fills 26 bottles of different gases every two weeks and buys all our welding supplies from them and still no break.

Parents sent me 10k to put into a business account :D faith in me much? Zero interest, and paid back within 10 years. So me making money shouldnt take too too long. Got a good future wifey that makes good money and accepted responsibility of all bills and rent till the business gets up and going. The stars have aligned for this unbelievably blessed overclockaholic :D
As far as components, heck yes SR for the business  jk but would like something nice to hone my wazza and superpi32m skills to grand mastery level when not slammed. :D
