Looks like my new camera was delivered today. :clapping:

......I know. You guys are relieved that you won't have to look at any more vertical artifact lines in my pictures.....:taunt: And I splurged on a decent middle of the road macro lens. You know, for circuit traces...erhm, I mean nature shots.

Now I have to decide whether to freeze something or play with it tonight.

Anybody have tripod suggestions (available in the States)? I want something not outrageously expensive, but with easy and smooth adjustments in xyz axes.

How about the $30 special (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16830997747)? ...Really I don't know. My girl is a photographer I will ask her.

Dunno yet. I will be looking for one too as I finally got of my arse and purchased a DSLR yesterday. Went with the Nikon D3100. Been needing one real bad and with the kiddo's 1st X-Mas coming up finally got the wife to agree on one. What did you get?

Thx. Looks promising.

Deja vu man. Splurged on my first decent 35 mm 11 years ago when my daughter was born. Seemed like an exorbitantly expensive credit purchase then, but one of the few things worth every penny.

After experiencing planned obsolescence problems with my last few cameras, I decided to try out Canon this time and got a 60D.

I got a real nice one on e-bay about a year ago. I got the kind where all three legs are independent so you can stand it on almost any surface. Mine didn't come with a head to hold the camera so I got that on e-bay as well. Think I spent about $150 in total on product that was worth about twice that.
