Ahhh... this econemy has me down, funds are getting harder to come by everyday.
The construction industy is flat out in the shit hole in my part of the country ....

I was pinning my hopes on a 480 i had purchased for some serious boint action this holiday season. Unfortunatly it was DOA and the seller told me he would help with an RMA and is now not reachable by phone or PM :ohcrap: .... and seems to be letting me hang high and dry, Unfortunatly it is one of our own. But no names here as I am not into mud slinging, surfice to say I will not be dealing or aknowleging his presence anylonger.

On another note

I have not built a system for a customer an a long time as at one time in my life I was building two or three a month. Got out of it because everyone thinks virus removal is included six months after deleivery,,,, just turned into more a PIA than it was worth.
But desperate times call for desperate measures and I am building one for a guy I met at Best Buy, he was looking at the 599 HP special and I got to speaking with him and wala PC sale

Here is a pic of the system. I have been out of this for a while, what is the going rate these days ... ? Back in the 90's and early 2000's I charged $ 150.00
So that is what I am charging this guy.

Please give me your thoughs on this as I am going to be getting back into this for some extra cash .... and want to be below the going rate but not leave to much cash on the table ....

Thanks in advance for any insight

couple or three more of these and I have a 580 ..............

I would take the "Microsoft Office Enterprise 2007 for $0.00" off there. You could run into a problem with that. Just some friendly advise ;)

your rates are fine. I'd tweak the setup a bit. I think a 60gb HD is too small. For the pric you could go alot bigger getting a platter drive. A Raptor or something along the lines of 10k rpm.

Duke:
I hear ya but I was just planning the OS for the SSD and use the 640 for apps and storage ....

OC:
No doubt, but it is a pretty bullet proof version .... but handing it over to a stranger could be a mistake... thuink I will throw some open office action on it :)

Honda:
I am a patient man .... and I hate virus removal and fixing new machiens due to over indulgence in the porn industry, and even worse hiding it while their wife is watching ....
Hijack this ....... LOL

Thansk guys I appreciate the input

I charge 10% of the total cost of parts (I include this is the total cost) then I charge $100 flat rate to build it. I also make customers sign a misuse statement saying that they are responsible for virus infections so I am not liable for their misuse. That's when I offer them my continued services for $120 per hour.

Same thing I do, except my hourly rate is slightly cheaper than yours due to the amount of competition in my location.
