Does anyone think there will ever be a SR2 variant put out for SB?

Absolutely on whatever replaces the X58 (X68?) platform and it would most likely start with 8c/16t processors.

Yes there will be multi socket for Sandy Bridge EN, EP and EX series (If I got the names of those correct.

At least, support is included in the socket designs.

Someone will design one I am sure. There was a pic of a guy holding up a 2P Gigabyte board, that made it look like X58, but I suspect it will be socket 1356 instead. It is only a few months away.

I thought Intel and AMD played by CY not FY when they mentioned quarters but then I read that Intels Q1 is up this month, so Q3 might mean May-July

EN (1356 X68) will support 1-2P the 2011 will support 1-4P although I am sure that will change since technically the current server Nehalem EX supports up to 256P through daughter boards.
