Has anyone had any success using gparted, HDDerase, or boot from USB devices onthis platform?

Running a P8P67 Deluxe and ended up installing to HDDs instead of SSDs since I could not secure erase my sandforce drives. (Plus I needed room for review software *sigh)

USB CDROM would not work (possible defective).

Mulitboost USB would not work with winFLP or XP SP3. FLP crashes with a 0x7B stop error (storage driver) and XP stops with a f60?.

Memtest on USB boots and hangs with garbage on screen.

Gparted crashes and HDDerase hangs after going through the options.

Trying to isolate if this a problem with my methods, the sandy bridge platform or the UEFI bios.

Yes I know to use IDE when installing XP/FLP. Then install drivers make the reg change reboot and change to AHCI. Done it a hundred times :)

TBH, it has me thinking it was the USB installation for that. But XP failed too (just a different error)

I have not tried slipstreaming the new RST drivers into XP yet. Going to have to figure it out before I bench Spi though. I have one DVDRW left I will try and run that before calling it quits.

Damn that is a nice write up.

What's everybody's fascination with putting toys on top of mobos when shooting pics of them?
