A no brainer surely?
Since it's only another 50usd over the 980x?
Haven't seen a lot of testing, but from the results I have seen, seems to clock just aswell if not better than the 980x

Yeah, a no brainer for those with more money than brains. That thing cost more than all of my computer components put together.......almost.
Surely hope I win one though. :cool3:

Maybe they just all have wads of cash to blow?
I'm happy for those that can afford stuff like that. :)

Oops I didn't read the bottom. How come it's always fairly accurate for me?

Depends on the revision and how you are adjusting voltage :) And whether a CPU is fully supported or not. He is using an older version of CPUZ I think. (I know they are at least into 1.56.x versions). Plus it just hit the market. might be slightly different than the 980X.
Or maybe he manually adjusted it not in the BIOS, or is using a manual vcore+ offest style those never read correctly I think (I dont run gigabyte so not sure)

Dunno about the timing of this chip being released. Bad move in my opinion.

My guess is they are taking one last ditch effort to milk the x58 platform
with 1155 released and 2011 around the corner I agree,
But there are those who will buy this chip and who knows, it may be the 6 core gold cup chip ..... so those holding 6 core cups using 980x could be looking at loosing a substancial amount of boints to this chip ..........

I have a 6ghz 980x i could sell to get a 990x. But with my luck the 990x wont do 6ghz. Thats the way it goes for me.
Besides i'm waitin to see what the new bot brings before any big benching hardware purchases. I may not spend my time and money on anything except my gamer if i dont like what happens.

I think it's funny how intel wants $1200 for a 6core chip, and 2006 they announced an 80core chip what's the cost of it going to be $5,000 - $10,000...
