OK guys, pt. 1 of 2 is complete. For pt. 1, I set the RAM at 2:8 ratio, started at 1600 and worked my way up in increments of 5 BCLK at a time until my CPU could go no higher or at least on air. I prolly could have lowered the volts on some but decided to stick with 1.65v for all test. The RAM performed rather well in my opinion as all test were down in Windows 7 with no tweaks what so ever. I might also add that Windows 7 theme was used in all test. Here are my results so far:

The last run being a new high for me soon to be added at the bot.

2:10 ratio testing to come next. Stay tuned.

That last clock jump gave a pretty good kick in the pants in 32m times.:smackbum:

I so wanted a 230 BCLK run which is what would have been next. Thinkin I would have nailed a 7min 40sec run. Can't wait to get this thing under ice.

There comes a time in every hardware you buy you have to make the decision of "Do I RMA?" or "Do I not RMA?" and well, I had to RMA this RAM. The RAM was great, had uber low latency capabilities but just wasn't quick enough for me. It was only Elpida and I know of Elpida Hyer's that could spank this RAM at looser latencies including my HyperX's. For the average Joe Blow I recommend this RAM but for the Overclockaholics like me, don't waste your time. Next stop OCZ Blade Cas 7's ! :wtf:

My wingman Dentlord has a set of blades and is lovin them. Its the Dom GT 3gb set for me though. I can run them thru benches on my 920 at 6-7-7-20 1t, gotta love that.

3oh6 hit 1122MHz with them and the two reviews I have seen him do on them he swears by them. But over at the egg they have received some shitty reviews but my guess it is from newbs just thinking they can set it at 1000MHZ and be good to go not realizing they are prolly undervolting their vtt or somethin. I slso seen some test run on the 1600 kit and they were top in the class. Plus OCZ has a lifetime warranty on their products. I found them at Amazon for $389.99 plus a $20 MIR bringing the grand total to $369.99.

Here are 3oh6's reviews:

Thats the Blades you are talking about right ?

Man that is just what I need to push this 920 over the edge and take #1. Been testing these OCZ Reapers and just can't get past the 1048mhz wall no matter what I do. Pulling my hair out LOL

The Blades do cost a fair amount tho :(

Whats the max speed you have seen with these kits ? I only have my 965/920do underwater, but I can do stock timings 7-8-7-20 1t up to 2100-2140. My bros over at NBOC have gotten their sets up to 2200 under SS. On the 920do up to 4.7, I run them cas 6 at 1800/2:8 :alien:

Well if you decide to spend some money on them, save a bunch and just go for the 3GB set....I haven't seen a big difference in performance with the 6gb set and they are almost twice the price.

WOW. Came home from work today and experienced 2 BSOD's. Just great. So I started to run Memtest just to get error after error at 1.35vtt at 1000MHz speeds. Bumped vtt up to 1.41v and so far no errors. My Mushkin's ran 1000MHz 9 hours at 1.325vtt volts. So much for a DICE session tonight as I have to go due some extensive RAM testing.

To add insult to injury the crashes corrupted my OS.

Well it appears that anything under 1.41vtt errors out. I knew that to run the HyperX's on the DFI stable at 1000MHZ you had to have a vtt of at least 1.39. The Classy won't allow for a 1.39 vtt in BIOS but will once you get into Windows and use Eleet. I'm talking real world vtt not BIOS/Eleet vtt. 1.41vtt is 1.35vtt in BIOS/Eleet for me. I hope that all made sense. My Mushkins broke that mold as they ran it at 1.325vtt. Looks like I will have to apply the 1.39vtt and up rule on 1000MHz. Then again the Mushkins weren't Hyper Elpida's like these Blades and the HyperX's so that might have somethin to do with it.
