How do you guys keep track of stuff?

Most of us prob have a lot of chips, and I was wondering how do you guys keep it organized?

Right now I am using note cards cut it in half, and wright the name of the chip, the SL-spec, FSB and muti with batch code.

example:

Celeron________352
SL96P _________Maly
3200MHz_______533MHz
______________x24
L608B392 ______C1

and then keep it in a box like a file cabinet but because i am so backed up with my other stuff i am having a hard time overclocking all my chips...
with about 20~30 of them in it (that's just 775 i have no idea where my box filled of 478s went), and on top of that i have like 16~19 different AMD based chips i a running out of space...

Just wanna see how you brosiks doing it....

DOM 01-11-2012 07:29 AM

They have fairly effective medication for this ..........

Seriously that is pretty sick Tu

lots of HPP's sitting there I bet ....

Neuromancer 01-11-2012 02:26 PM

What DOM said is what I have seen most often.

Usually its model number and freq the rest is available online if you are not familiar enough with the chip.

kikicoco1334 01-11-2012 04:15 PM

right now i am working on the AMD Socket As cuz i have so many and no one on our team benches those things lol
i really think i got a few good chips just need to get them under LN2 and figure it out what the hell is wrong with my NF7-S when i mod it it just dont' wanna turn on

Neuromancer 01-11-2012 05:29 PM

You are awesome kiki.

Need to come up to my place in a couple of months. gotta share garage with a indian and a sportster, but plenty of room for a large dewar :) (and 160L rentals are under $200...)

kikicoco1334 01-11-2012 05:35 PM

hahaha for sure mate!
I shouldn't have too much skooling left, cuz i just added another major it may hold me back a semester or so, after i am done with it i'll prob be moving a little up north anyways...

but yeah I'll bring my 32L should be real fun :D

just found some more 939 and socket a chips

punx223 01-11-2012 10:35 PM

I keep excel sheet bro...... you gotta :) keep settings there as well

Splave 01-12-2012 03:04 AM

^ truth

Idk how many times ive benched the same thing over again just to test the settings I was stable at last time and forgot lol huge time saver to write shit down.

GFDuke 01-12-2012 05:01 AM

I don't keep stuff. I bench it and get rid of it. There's really no need for a huge inventory.

Mr.Scott 01-12-2012 05:18 AM

I keep stuff.;) A lot of stuff.
Kiki, I'm interested in your 3100+ socket A chip. Care to trade? I have many socket A's, 939's, AM2's, ram, Etc. PM me, I'm sure we can swing a deal if you'd like.:)

Yea CPU's for sure

Although crunching the numbers in the new rev for hardware and hardware masters if you hold on to them for a few gens you can usually smoke on air guys that busted their ass with volts and ln2 ........ with little effort although this does not help with globals

So in time if you take a 30 boint average for your top 20 you end up with a static 600 boints to pile global efforts on ....

esay smessie style .......

Of course the rev will change three times before you ever get there :ohcrap:

kikicoco1334 01-12-2012 08:52 AM

I normally do my settings by hand, like here
http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b1...f/P1010317.jpg

i do have a excel file that keeps a track of what i all clocked, what benches i have all ran for both 2D and 3D with it's max score/clock

really right now my prob is just not able to find any time to clock them all

when i very first joined the team i had A LOT more chips then this...
but kinda sold like 60% of it....
most of them was like Core 2 based, had like a few AM2, AM2+ chips kinda just sold it all to make money

wish i never sold both my Q6600 and some of the other good chips.....

i just looked most of them over, for the amds most of them aren't even in the right baggy...
and some of it i can't even find and i am now finding new random chips....
i had intel pentium 3s mixed with socket a chips FML

OC Maximus 01-14-2012 07:56 AM

just sayin' ;)

This ^

I think I have 3 celerons I never benched from way back. Those are the only CPU's I have that aren't in a rig or actively being sold.

i would be selling all my stuff, i NEED the cash too, it's just we have a tiny little prob...

nothing huge, it's just i kinda sux ass at what we do here, and i have no idea if i maxed out my chip or not, and if i tweaked the os/benches the right way or used the right hardware to go with the right chip all that...

so i am saving it and rebench it ALL one day.

i made a huge mistake by selling my gold batch Q6600 for $100 cuz i DIDN'T KNOW, i only benched that sucker on a 780i FTW with 1/4in tubing coolermaster vga cooler that i docked on to a cpu and i know i can push it a lot harder on LN2 or even dice

What I do is go into the BOT, then I go to my profie
http://hwbot.org/user/PhIlLy%20ChEeSe%20StEaK/

Then I go under my submissions, say i wanna check how high i went with "one GTX 580" in 3Dmark 05 I then click on "Videocad" ope tne scroll down to 05 boom all my submissions are there, well all my best at least.
http://hwbot.org/user/PhIlLy%20ChEeS...My_Submissions

You can also do that with CPU/motherboard/memory too and 2D tests as well.
Hope that helps you!
