L&L Overclocking Cryogenic Chiller The OCC

And suddenly there was a new way! We've been working on this for a while, and now for the unveiling. Fully controllable with set points and profiles, connects directly to Dewar and CPU, recirculates exhaust to purge moisture from case. The future is here...http://i1074.photobucket.com/albums/...psp02pk1to.jpg

Kal-EL 09-25-2015 05:41 PM

The future needs more pics to feed the pic monster :picmonster:

Forum allows upload of jpeg. What does the cpu mount/block look like?

(Let me know if you have any further issues and the browser you are using)

LN2daddy 09-25-2015 06:04 PM

Wow. Didn't realize I could have a community. Actually I want to make these available to the community already here. Here's a photo of the Chuck... CNC milled copper with complete temp control including heat to regulate!

LN2daddy 09-25-2015 06:07 PM

Oh I'm sorry. I didn't realize the community thing was your signature. I thought you were asking me what kind of community I wanted to build. The knife thing kind of freaked me out too :-)

LN2daddy 09-25-2015 06:20 PM

Are the images coming through? I can see them... Using photo bucket

Kal-EL 09-25-2015 07:23 PM

Yes, images are looking good my friend. And lol, yah, the rest is part of my silly signature for posts.

Hello LN2daddy, nice to have you on the forum.

I can see all images just fine.

Not sure if I understand how this system works. Could you elaborate?

Thanks!

L&L Cooling Tech, Inc. Overclocking Computer Chiller - The OCC

Have you tested the OCC on a system with no Cold Bug or Cold Boot Bug? Say an AMD 1090T that can run full tilt at -196 or a system like a Intel 2600k that can have a varying cold bug at -30 thru -50?

I'm curious how quickly the system responds to heavy load temperature swing. Also curious on the price points. I know Vince Lucido dabbled in this area for both CPU and Multi-GPU overclocking some years ago but I never heard the results of that endeavor.

Buckeye 09-28-2015 01:04 PM

WOW !!!

That is damn cool man, very nice !!

How low of temps can this run at ?

Here's a video of the machine running on a Pentium d at -106C. I have a Formula Z with a 8350 coming on Friday to show the system running as cold as it can go (hopefully -190 or better). with high watt temp swings. We will be launching our website in the next few days. Before then I can't talk price. We'll have some very nice promotionals to start out with though.

Staying tuned.

Running -175C controlled on OC'd FX8350. Showing AMD Overdrive bench. https://youtu.be/RGm1oeDklos

LN2daddy 10-30-2015 10:13 AM

You should probably be able to run it at -190 to -199. Here is a vid of it running at -175C https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RGm1oeDklos

I just replied with a video of the OCC running on an FX8350 at -175C.

Yah, I saw, OCC looks very capable. It's still untested in the "temp swing" area tho. 5ghz @1.40-1.46 vCore isn't much of a load on Ln2. 5ghz on that chip is completely do-able on water cooled systems. You'll see what I mean if when you get the overclock on that processor up to around 7ghz in the 1.8-1.9vCore range while running wprime32m, that's the zone where temp swing becomes critical because even a 10 degree shift can cause system lockup or bsod.

Having the OCC maintain stable temps there allows the overclocker to fine tune the system for maximum efficiency in any given benchmark. I think that is my main interest in your system. Being able to quickly and successfully maintain a pre-determined temp under heavy load without having to free-hand pour/compensate for load. Cruise mode overclocking behind the keyboard.

Looks good tho, cheers

I love it "Cruise mode overclocking behind the keyboard." Would you need royalty payment for me to use that? We will be showing the OCC running on with the 8350 OC'd to 6-7 ghz next week (probably friday or the following tuesday depending when our new LN2 gets here). I've been given some critical voltage info which I did not know about when I did the OC shown. I can't wait to see someone like you busting world records with the OCC!!!!

lol, no royalty needed. I'd like to give the OCC a run but my old Ln2 contact has moved on and they wanna charge $14.50 a Liter here in Hawaii. SO until I sort out a decent price, it'll be cascade cooling only for me.

"Cruise mode overclocking behind the keyboard."

Love that!

Lets see some 7ghz runs

Well, I ran a 7 hour LN2 session today. OC'd the maching in the 6's 6.2 to 6.9 ghz but couldn't for the life of me get anything but novabench to read current speeds outside of 1.5ghz per core. Here is a print screen. I'm at the house now so I can run as meny sessions as I need. The only thing I can think of is, I used the jumper and LN2 switch on the Formula Z board. Should I not be using the jumper/switch? As far as I know I disabled all power management settings in the BIOS and followed all tutorials to a T. BTW I ran at -186 for 7 hours, no ice in the case. As you can see on one of the programs, the MOBO temp was around -10C from the purge nitrogen. Also the video card, which normally runs about 50C ran at 0C from the sub ambient purge. My son will be gaming with Dying Light for three hours OC'd at 6.9 ghz and -186 tomorrow. We'll be making video of the fun. See the PS below and any suggestion are TOTALLY WELCOME!

Nice, keep pushing. Try without Ln2 jumper. Looks like yer having some fun now. "Snipping Tool" in Win7 is easier for screenshots when posted to forums. Not everyone has snazzy 5120x1440 setups :)

I'm pretty sure you can reach 8ghz!

LN2daddy 11-06-2015 07:03 AM

So here is a vid from our session last night with a Novabench test. New: Mainboard temp is shown, so everything was chilled around -30C while the chip was cooled to -180C to -190C. Temp swing during benchmark was about 4 degrees.

Hit 6.3 ghz last night. Ran bench and only 4-5C in temp swing. The OCC ROCKS!!!

Kal-EL 11-09-2015 02:21 PM

Very Cool. Keep pushing! :)
