No tweaks, hacks, or human interaction that in any way alters or modifies windows timing in any way or tricks the benchmark into thinking it completed faster than it truly did run.
i am not sure i fully understood this part
no tweaks at all? like no wazza or anything like that?

Wazza and all of that are fine. I am referring to tweaks that Trick the os or benchmark from a timing perspective to believe that time was passing slower than it actually did.

oh sorry i freaked out a little
thanks mang

Ve have Vays of making you enjoy yourselve, Ja?

Personally, I doubt I'll win but I'm looking forward to it :) Great of you to set it up, and it's great to have a Thermaltake rep here on the forum

rickss69 07-20-2011 02:26 PM

I could never get that Chinese OS to work so I'm at a disadvantage already.

DrNip 07-20-2011 04:40 PM

What do you think the score to beat on Intel will be? 7m 45s?

rickss you got me brother!
you know i am always on your side comes to that os

DrNip 07-20-2011 05:42 PM

The taiserver isn't all that. It's good but a little research at this forum well net you the necessary tweaks to beat it.

I usually use a lightened Win XP 64bit Pro install.

start there :good:

DrNip 07-20-2011 06:13 PM

Had my retail copy of xp 32 beating my taiserver install the other day. Can't imagine if I put winlite to it.

In other words cheating. Like using a higher clock frequency and dropping cpu frequency to make the alloted clcok speed minimum.

In normal words, only one of 3 are going to win (we know who they are). As it is all about the tweaks. OCAers dont cheat, it would mean instant expulsion. Tweaking though is shared heavily and expect the top 20 to all be contenders at the bot for that GHz :)

WinFLP FTW!

My benching board has an NF200 chip on it now.

My goal is to beat Ricks semp140 on my 890GX setup :)
Hoping he accepts the challenge for a win 7 HTPC ready OS bench. IE whatever you tweak spi for must still work as an HTPC.

Tt-USA Enthusiasts 07-20-2011 10:12 PM

This bench competition is for Overclockaholics family ONLY.... knowone can beat you but your own teammates, and if you feel they will win then why not ask them for help? maybe they can give you some pointers on what to look at or what you can tweak to make things a lil better...

you guys are a team. this competition is small and you should use this as a learning possability for you guys to learn the bench and get better at it.

whats the worst that could happen? they say no to helping you and your still in same position right? ;)

but so far from what Ive seen you guys are a pretty tight team and i think the most skilled members here seem quite willing to help.

are you willing to listen and learn?

I believe anyone can win this. Not only is there an Intel but there is an AMD contest which opens the gates to the other side of overclocking which I have never seen an AMD contest here yet. If there was then i must have been a sleep for it.

I am confused by this ?? How is changing these two parameters considered cheating :Dizzy: Isn't this the reason people buy unlocked procs, to have more options?

Did I read this wrong ?

DrNip 07-21-2011 05:43 AM

I think what he was meaning was running the test at a higher frequency and then dropping it back to the 4.0ghz cap after the test has complete e.g. rog connect or whatever it may be.

Kal-EL 07-21-2011 05:56 AM

yah.....

Tt-USA Enthusiasts 07-21-2011 06:54 AM

I saw that as a possible issue, and it would truly be sad to see that sort of thing.

This is why I would like to limit this to the overclockaholics family of overclockers as I dont think you would cheat your teammates.

Thats why I said the number one rule is to have fun.

Tt-USA Enthusiasts 07-21-2011 07:00 AM

This is also another reason in the notes it is listed that if a submission is questionable we can request another run with video verfication and then we can ensure any questions by other competitors can be easily answered.

MaadDaawg 07-21-2011 08:21 AM

ohhhhh  Actually that interpretation did occur to me after I posted that :keeporder:

I'd be  shocked if anyone stooped so low as to cheat on a team mate  Good to know the results are subject to litigation though :D
joking.... jeeez

Should be fun :)

run some test laps :)

Neuromancer 07-21-2011 01:53 PM

Yeah no cheaters here. Was just clarifying the one rule LOL

NF200 I am not sure the details specifically just that it can raise latency, it is the board I have to use for now though.

NF200 from what I have seen can raise latency (very very slightly) on graphical response. shouldn't really be a concern on a 2d bench ;)

crio 07-21-2011 02:19 PM

Hey, where is the oficial background.Got some nice runs to show :p

HAHA well you have to run the benchmark and have the background present. all runs must be made after contest start and before contest end :)

Tt-USA Enthusiasts 07-21-2011 03:34 PM

Ok guys background is up a lil early.,....

DrNip 07-21-2011 03:52 PM

Yes Normal HWBOT would be fine but with inclusion of time/date

DrNip 07-21-2011 04:13 PM

Educated guess. ;)
