Project "S"uper Chiller

Another chiller project for good ole Soups :D

This time its not 100% "Home Brew" but its exciting nonetheless :trophy:

Thx to Buckeye for a very smooth purchase and a superb packaging of this unfinished chiller. It arrived in flawless fashion and proves that Single Stages and such can be shipped if packed properly.

Now, its up to me to figure out the finer details and get this beauty up to snuff on operation, decent temps and functionality. I can't wait to get this thing revving up and going :D I have high expectations for this chiller's duties as either a 24/7 cooler, a down and dirty GPU killer or simply a water chiller for my beer cooler :ash1:

And here's the money shot:

Nice! I am looking forward to when I can get a phase change. Hopefully it will be a cascade.

That looks really good Supes, do you know what was used for the actual heat exchanger?

Actually, no Frank I don't. I know that Buckeye had it started by Jin a while back during all that drama that was going on with him. Buckeye said he never fired it up not even once after getting it from Jin. There is a CPEV for adjusting temps on it on the far left of the pic.

Maybe Punx has run it already as he knows the wattage load and the temps it runs on.

What does it actually need at this point?

Just a nicely rigged up on/off switch, 12v psu for the condensor fan, piping and testing.

Looks good buddy. Now you just need one of those things with two of those big things. :D What do they call those? Oh ya, compressors and cascades :D Get-R-Done

Good Job Kal, it's looking good :)

Yeah from what Jin said it was made to hold 500watts @ -10c.
I think it will go colder but you will find out I am sure :)

I never got it going mainly because I have no Water Cooling equipment. The plan at the time was to use it in the cooling tower to cool GPUs, but with 2 Phases running and condensation issues I never got it up and running.

I sent Kal pictures of how I packed it, LOL it was packed pretty tight :)

I was very nervous about shipping that thing as I have heard so many stories of units getting damaged in shipping.

When I went to the post office to ship it I did 6-7 day. So 9 days come and go and I was going oh nooo. So I called USPS and spoke with a operator and he goes... 6-7 day is only in the US, outside the country it could take 3-4 weeks !
I went OMG I don't feel good about this, Kal is gona be thinking good grief am I getting scammed here.

But then the next day MSN lights up from Kal going ... guess what just came. I went thank goodness, now I can sleep HAHAHA

Have fun Kal and post pic's please :)
