jesus, Idk what you guys are talking about but distilled water is def the recommended. I have been running it with a 2gb bar of silver in my res for months no problem. No creatures no build up tubes clear as day 1

Silver will kill all microbes in the water and act as an anode,
It will lose some of itself to protect the other metals.

tap water is ok...tap water is less prone to getting into an acidic state vs distilled....

just flush the tap water.....

i use tap water when i want to run my loop @ 2am and no distilled around...
