gah taht socket still creeps me out... something about placing the chip in a bare plastic socket... then again i guess i really do like how you can remove the hold down so much easier on the X58 and P55 boards now.

Lookin forward to see the results

EDIT: I do not like how they call the new chip an I7 as I can see where somoe regular consumers like the ones I deal with every day will be all pissy because they cannot fit this new 870 in their classified....

GOD HELP ME!!! i can forsee stupid calls in the future

Keep us up to date on this one dinos. I was lookin and liken this board the other day. I wonder what these mobos/cpus will achieve? 6ghz? Maybe I'm dreamin. I'm just wondering what will be the e8600 replacement or if there will ever be one.

from looking at the intel info already out there nip it looks as though core I3 if it ever comes around will be a hyperthreaded dual core aimed at all teh core2duo's as replacements, i think this will be kind of a poor mans 920 setup....

What doesnt make much sense as speculative numers put its cost at far more than a I7 920/mid range mobo cost...

also only dual channel ddr3

but otherwise onboard nand could be fun to play with

Well I was wanting to buy another e8600 but had the this thought in my head last night that I might hold off to see if there will be a new bad boy in town soon that would replace it.
