Thanks Kal and mini-female Kal lol
Cecil. Interesting you mention playing with the voltages first. Running AMD for the last year or so, I forgot how much voltage plays a part in heat generation on Intel Chips. On the K10 architecture clock speed and CPUNB freq play the biggest roles on making the chip run hot. I actually fully accepted this to be fact when I was accidentally running 1.6 vcore at stock timings and temps were great lol
Got a shit lot to get done these next couple of days, i7 is staring at me with those lonely puppy dog eyes, oh thats the dog, nm...Hopefully will get another crack at it this weekend if not later today
I may have forgotten to re-disable C1E after a bios reset (updated bios) which is why I was having trouble at 4.2HT with spi32m.
I am not too worried about CPU clocks TBH, just want them high enough to not be an issue for some 3d benching. My 2D benches I will stick with AMD 'thar be boints in them thar chips'

Yah my life is shitty. Home right now but have my kids with me. I can get some time to get some posting done, not really much time for OC/Benching... (that requires a lot of time, stress and beer) Monday Tuesday are my free time days, but now my family wants to cook me dinner and make me drink beer with them *sigh

Got a little free time, so I am going play today
Starting with the memory though to find stability at higher speeds. Then I can concetrate on the BUS and then the CPU
Installing a special XP OS right now, instead of WinFLP. Might not handle the 2D benches as well I cant really compete for boints there anyway.. hoping it will help out in PCMArk05 and some 3d benches though MWAHAHAHAHA
If it works I will update my PCmark thread

Seems to be handling the job very well. At stock Idle speeds (as reportedin BIOS) are BELOW 30C
And it is a little warm in here too
Once I get XP installed, fix the vista/mojave boot manager, and IMAGE THE DAMN DISK THIS TIME
I will find the limit of my memory.
Oh quick questions, read but unsure. c1e has to be enabled for turbo to work? (not sure if that is right or not, would explain my board not booting lol) So should I enable it, and set multi to 21 or disable and leave it at 20

I'd disable the c13 bro, leads to instability when pushin the clocks. This is the traditional observations, I've not tested on this generation, I just disable it altogether.

K I disabled both.
Wow... .
Gotta say Intel has brought the snap back
Running at 1.6 GHz 1600Mem at 8-8-8-1T fresh install and it is sooo snappy. Reminds me of my AMD rigs
Quite an improvement over core2

UGH MOTHER>>>>>>>>
Formatting an reinstalling
Memory is not stable loosened to 9-9-9 and about 10 minutes in Linpack locks up the computer.
Load temps were 60-64C at 133x21 1.24 vcore
Vista locked up while defragging the XP partition so that new install is borked. Also my DX10 version of XP did not help the transparent windows test.
Going back to 9-9-9 2T at 1600 1.65 and reinstalling windows.
Partitioning with Vista since windows 7 insists on installing a 100MB partition at the front of the drive :s
EDIT: And I am a tard. I burned the wrong ISO, burning and reinstalling AGAIN
