Default miniReview - Feser Solid Arrow

Awhile back I posted this link because I thought the product was unique and practical. The engineering behind it fascinated me. I had thought I'd added a pic, but apparently I don't have one of the product prior installation, so, you'll need to go to

http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/fesoarssdexb.html

to view the Sidewinder page for it.

I have since put one together with the four SSD drives it's meant to accommodate, and have to report that it works as advertised, fitting 4 SSDs into 1 bay space.

The most difficult part of the assembly was installing the first drive, since there are only two side pieces to the entire product. After that, the remaining drives were relatively easy to install with the supplied hardware.

The Solid Arrow comes with spacers that allow you to mount it into either a 5.25 bay or a 3.5 bay, I chose the 3.5 bay because I have a big ass Delta fan mounted just behind that cage blowing directly on the SSDs

INSURE you install the the bay spacers first! Once the SSDs are installed you're S.O.L. if you failed to do so.

You may have noted in the Sidewinder pics that the tail of the assembly juts out approx 1.5 inches in the back, which may or may not be a problem depending on the case you are using. I mounted my Solid
Arrow on my Banchetto bench, and found it actually sticks out the front for about the same distance Fortunately for the Banchetto, neither make any difference but if you are planning to mount one in an enclosed case this is something you need to consider.

All in all I give the Solid Arrow a rating of 10 out of 10, or, 5 eggs as it performs as advertised and was very easy to setup.

and it looks cool
