so i just got this cam from stables and it was one of those free ones, and it uses those AAA batteries and i was wondering if i can mod something to make it i can use USB cable

it's got a USB mini on it
i already tried everything with the USB and NOTHING! kinda pissed right now
i took the cable and cutted it open and then cut the data cables and the damn thing still think it's on a computer when i turn it on even tho the cable only got the black and red cable and gave 5V +/- 1%
and i have modded more than enough usb cable to do douche bag things (molex, lights you name it, and it worked everytime!)

anyone have any ideas if there is anything i can do to make it run on USB?
i was gonna connect the USB to the batteries socket and but on the battery cover it's saying AAA 1.5v BUT the usb gives out 5v
and i dont' wanna cook the video cam

How many battereis is it using?

If 3, you should be able to rip out the battery compartment and run it at 5v. just solder right up to the leads. It will be .5 volt high and might not last forever but... its free!

if two you will need to add in a resistor to lower it.

so i still have to take it a part and then unsolder and solder the wire?

add some lengths of wire to the hot and ground. You could wireup a harness if you want... whichever is easier to you. 3 hot +3 ground .. or open it up.

You might even be able to find a premade harness online although I would have no clue how to google it.
