I like 1156 holes as there is a bit more room for the insulation

I'm feeling a total noob like I've never done this a thousand times before...

I can't seem to find a way to mount this thing, my old pot was so much easier...

I've tried mounting it 8 times now with insulation, without insulation, different holes on the plate, etc, but all I get is this less then sub-par mount:

I'm really at loss here and don't know what to try next.

EDIT: What's the amount of pressure you guys using? I'm stopping as soon as both of the plastic stoppers touch each other but I suspect this isn't enough...

I almost bottom the springs out, been made fun of for that but never had an issue and consistant temps. I think you need a little bit more time and heat the pot up to the 40s or 50s and slightly twist the pot to get a nice spread.

^^^

I tried this a couple times now, and it makes for a great mount!

Fire it up with an empty pot and get the cpu warmed up for a bit, give 'er a twist back and forth and shut down till cooled off.

If you are touching the plastic stoppers together in the spring that should be plenty tight

Easiest way is to slob on the tim to the cpu h/s and drag it around in a square, run the system without any cold in it till the pot warms up to about 40c twist her a couple times to make sure there are no pockets, bolt down the springs just a weee bit more then get cold.

I had a bad mount my first time with the 670 and I couldnt even reach the -165 coldbug with a stuffed full pot.

Today I had a fantastic mount and temps were so easy to control, got some much better scores out of it. wprimes at 6010 and pifast at 6360

The yellow sun will give him the strength.

In regards to mount pressure, personally I dont wrench these latest chips down very much at all. My gut tells me it effects the cbb temp.

you don't need to put alot of weight on the springs....you just want to make the pot stable...so when it freezes your mount will be good even with the heat....

heard that spraying the inside of the pot with water and getting a nice ice layer helps control temps anyone tried it?
