Default AC for Ducting

Had a spare 5150BTU unit in the basement, decided to make a ducting unit out of it. Nothing pretty but blows nicely.

Awesome mod bro. Any improvement over ambient is great. You can keep tweaking that ducting mod to suit your ever increasing needs for overclocking.

Whats next? The overclocking numbers that show a marked increase in highest oc?

Guys, just rip the housing off, submerge the evaperator in a cooler w/sub-zero coolant and pump it thru the water blocks already. Or! skip the whole chiller thing and head straight to DICE or LN2

Its a 5150BTU unit, wont do much good as anything but a ducting cooler. Plus Im just using it to cool the board during DICE runs.

Now heres what you have to do...

1.) get another AC
2.)duct it
3.) attach the ducting to the first AC's air intake!
4.) Dual Stage AC lmao

(i actually did this 2 yrs ago in my quest for a better OC lol)

Seriously though AC's can still be useful. I used two AC's to cool 2 4870x2's... got me 850mhz core...

O.k. seriously, you ran the first a/c to the condensor of the second a/c, did it help at all?

Yes of course! Im not sure how much colder it actually made the air (i had no therm at the time) but it did decrease my cpu temps by a few degrees at load (added about 75mhz to my overclock - a E6600 iirc). I found it more useful for cooling videocards though. Leave the cpu for extreme stuffz

Make a loop instead of it just blowing on the board. Put the board in an enclosure (full tower works nice) and circulate the air. Run the OUT from the enclosure to the IN on the A/C...it will get colder and colder. You will need to jumper the thermostat.

Yep......another one is hooked.
