Angry Trend Micro = FAIL

I bought an ASUS ROG laptop that came with Trend Micro Internet Security. I have been using Kaspersky Internet Security on all my machines for the past 4 years.

Here's where Trend falls short

1 - Virus updates. You update manually by pushing a button. Kaspersky downloads automatically EVERY DAY.
2 - Proactive vs Reactive. I'm running a full scan on my system no. at 3/4 of the way through Trend has identified 24 potential risks but has not fixed them yet. Kaspersky operates proactively and takes care of the issue before it settles into your hard drive.
3 Trend Micro does offer an upgrade to their Titanium Intenet Security, maybe if you paid more you'd get what Kaspersky includes in it's only version??

The only two paid anti-viruses that I will use is Kaspersky or ESET. Other than that it's AVG free or MSE ftw.

Kaspersky, while not free, gives you licenses for 3 computers but doesn't keep track of the number of computers it's used on. Get's cheaper by the install :

AVG or Avast. Avast has served me well for over 4 years. For 3 years before i went to Avast i used AVG. They both update automatically daily. So basically i havn't paid for Antivirus in 7 years. And i havn't been infected in as many. Before that i used Norton and had so many issues its not funny.

Why do people pay for antivirus programs?

I do not use AVG anymore it got too bloated. MSE is what I use when I even install Antivirus.

Norton has supposedly gotten better, but TBH it could not have gotten worse. But I would never pay for security software.

OMG

Biggest scam every.. Internet security..

LOL

If your Antivirus (not Internet security suite that bogs down the average PC so much it runs so slowly you might as well just run straight viruses) doesn't handle bots, worms and drivebys (javascript viruses) then dump it.

I never tried Kaspersky, because it is not free. I wouldn't buy a tinfoil helmet either if I can fashion one up for free
