Don't try this at home. Yea it freakin hurts. The plastic surgeon has re attached it. I've got a 50/50 chance it will take. No golf this summer. Looks like more benching time will be had instead.

I just finished power washing the side of this house and I was walking around swinging the shuttuers back in place and latching them. There was a hole in a iron grate that covers a cellar window that is below the grade of the land. The shutter bracket is shaped like a sideways reverse S. So when I started falling through the grate I put my hand up to stop myself, got my thumb caught and my weight was just too much I guess. It all happened so fast .

HOLY HELL DUDE! actually not sure what you did there but my dad had something like this about a year ago. and it freaking sucked! it didn't completely come off but he turned WHITE!

I am. Not for a while now though. Either way. No matter what you do, losing your thumb is not good. I am actually in the construction business. Mainly painting and wallpapering. Brings some truth to the saying, "one arm paperhanger".
