Do they make these units just for CPU cooling or are there units that will do both GPU and CPU? I've never seen one that does both... Just wondering if there is such an animal.

Heres a couple from Frozen CPU. The tough part about buying a phase change unit is finding a quality builder that creates units that perform above the norm. Spfoam1 picked up a single stage unit from a very talented phase builder. His single stage performs better or the same as a really good dice setup.

Unfortunately, right after he scored the unit, the builder turned into a jackfruit that was stiffing people on their orders and not returning phonecalls etc.

You can purchase a mass produced variant like one of the units here:
http://www.frozencpu.com/cat/l2/g41/...r_Express.html
but it may or may not be a good performer.

The company based in Tawain is branching out internationally, the shipping cost kill but their units may be worth the extra dough performance wise. Here is the website:

Kewl thanks bro..... Looks like it would get a little bulky to do the GPU's also, but could be done. In that first link it's kinda weird that the dual is a $100 cheaper than the single.

A friend and I were just talking today about how killer it would be to be able to phase chill both the cpu and the gpu's.. as far as I know, there isn't a unit made as of yet to do the GPUs :(

There was a hydro unit, I forget the manufacturer tho, gotta go dig up that link when I get back. It cooled two gpus and a cpu but I recall word on the street was it was a bit too weak.

It was the Cooler Express Hydra (Google FTW)

I think the Frozen CPU units are pretty darn good actually. Might be a bit pricey tho compared to what you can get from a builder.

But you do get a quality built unit with a warranty.

SS Phase units are more for 24/7 use imo, they really don't buy you much if you are benching and going for hwbot points because others with DICE/LN2/Cascades will beat you.

But if you want a really nice machine for gaming 24/7 use a SS Phase is great.

At this point in time there are very few Phase builders in the US and most build benching style units as it is next to impossible to get Phase Cases here anymore.

Who I see that are building now are Ron from Under-The-Ice who makes really nice units, or Sdumper who has built a fair amount of units. You might even be able to get a CRYO-Z if you live near a Computer Center in the SF Bay Area, those don't ship very well tho.

Shiiping these units is a problem tho.

Didn't the "Hydra" get a bad rap for weakness tho? Aside from the other units....
