Default Gigabyte Announces new motherboard lineup for computex 2009

Quote:
During this year’s Computex in Taipei Gigabyte Technology Co., will be announcing a slew of innovative products in their motherboard lineups that will bring them further into the enthusiast and mainstream markets.

One of the technologies that Gigabyte will be announcing during Computex will be their newly designed 24-phase power VRM which is designed to deliver more and cleaner power to the CPU. While this may be a good development, we can only reserve our judgment of such a technology until we do a review of this 24-phase power design and compare it against other motherboard manufacturers with other VRM designs.

The 24-phase tech will be demonstrated on the Intel platform, which is a little bit odd given the current popularity of Phenom II and its overclocking antics. The first motherboard is intended for Core i7 processors, the GA-EX58A-Extreme. The second 24-Phase motherboard is the GA-EP55-UD5 board, a board that features the LGA-1156 Socket for the upcoming Core i5 processors. In addition to having the 24-phase VRM both of these boards will also be sporting SATA 3.0 controllers capable of the 6Gbps data transfer rates.
