also drivers ? going to run 3dm06 down on xp should i try an older driver ot the lastest ? i know 4870 should be 9.12 right?
Not sure about the bios ... 9.12's are good and can't go wrong with 182.50 for nv ;)

Thanks bro, this one didn't come easy, I almost gave up after 15 minutes. Switched to XP and fresh drivers and it all started working.

Hardware benching is so much more fun to me, globals are freakin' stressful!

I give up, going to sell the lightning on ebay for probably $1k prerelease :shock: thing sucks, honestly acts just like the 4 shit 5870 lightnings I benched before touching a golden one that did 1400+.

980x is good, apparently 05 responds to memory and uncore speed quite a bit more than I though not just cpu mhz. Got deep into a 6.25ghz run and ran out of ln2 and the gpu shitted out -50c 1050/1200.

Benched aq3 at 6.4ghz with slow uncore and ram though. More to come for sure :thumbsup:

MSi is great for your everyday mild overclocker but for us, fuck em. I can't stand this GD-80 mobo I have. I shouldn't have cut corners and just dropped the extra cash for an Asus or EVGA. Ya live and yet ya still don't learn or at least that is the theme with me.

Never had any luck with MSI products .... but as far as the lightnings go when you get a good one they do rock da house, I am sure they will ultimantly hold the golds in the 480 catagory .... you would think they would do a better job of binning to get some consistancy in their lightning line though .... this one out of four shit is rediculous ...

See the Sparkle OC edition with the purple fans yet ........... :laughing:
