Another great day of benching at Kal's place.

There's this mystical smoky LN2 aura surrounding his bench which turns everything into Pure WIN. Its the place where I skipped 5ghz and went strait to 6ghz. Also the place where I popped my 7ghz cherry. I tell you, there is something magical about that bench table.

It was a great honor to have our Captian pour for me while at the helm. Having Splaveman on chat was also nice ;)

Its always a http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr4/383HEMI/s.pnguper time at Kal's!

Great job yesterday you celery smokers.

Splave 03-26-2011 08:24 AM

http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=1733161

remounted and hitting it again right now brb

OC Maximus 03-26-2011 08:33 AM

Awesome stuff Splave. Think I'm gonna try that 352 one more time. Had voltage at 1.82v in bios before hitting the vrs. Going to try 1.79v set then adjust vr from there next time.

Splave 03-26-2011 08:37 AM

good idea commando can be funny with the core and vdroop mod.
Sometimes setting lower voltage in bios will allow you to go higher in OS with the vr's before kicking off.

P5E3 premiums is lazy mans board, vcore over voltage jumper allows 2.1v set from bios :D

EDIT: 2nd chip fsb wall, 7.3ghz max...wprimed 7.25 rofl

kikicoco1334 03-26-2011 09:25 AM

wait! ocm you didn't even use vrs during that 7.8 run?! O.o

Splave 03-26-2011 10:08 AM

w00t last chip maxes 6.8ghz ftl

PS forgot to add, the 1st chip killed my antec HCP-1200w somehow? doesnt even light the board up anymore when plugged in. Back to my trusty HEC cougar 1200watt lol.

Chest day, then back at it. 2 more 352's left and 3 347s

It is in the picture right next to the 8pin CPU wire.

Killed my P8P67 Pro today *sigh.

Not even overclocking, I was playing with that EPU shit it popped and died *sigh.

Guess later tonight I will setup the Sandy Bridge 24/7 Rig and put my AMD system up for server duties.

Witchdoctor 03-27-2011 05:59 AM

How the hell did the HCP die? Corsair is a strong unit too. I'm eyeballing the AX850w for the grinder. Still have the TPQ1200 if ever needed.

Splave 03-27-2011 07:07 PM

benching celerons on the p5e3 lol, take 990x + 580 at 1.57v fine but then dies on the stupid 775 board?

It doesnt even turn the "off" lights on when powered on :X

Chuchnit 03-27-2011 07:10 PM

:rofl of all things to be doing to kill your PSU. Celerons.......

Neuromancer 03-27-2011 08:03 PM

There is a term for that (no not irony). But using a 1200W PSU for a 200W max load is not a good idea.

Think it has to do with putting enough pressure on the all the rails or something. I know back i nthe day if you wanted to use a PSU just for 12V, you had to add load to the 3.3 and 5v rails to keep the PSU from going belly up.

Kal-EL 03-28-2011 12:08 AM

I like the little arrow :D

GeorgeStorm 03-28-2011 12:33 AM

Just get the 580 cold, and with SB, even on air/water/phase you'll be raking in the globals.

Splave 03-28-2011 07:12 AM

wprimes with a dual core or quad would help
you need big 3d with 580 cu :)

Witchdoctor 03-28-2011 11:39 AM

Click on the more subs button ..............

Maybe a pot but can't really get into 1366 at the moment. I'll jump in next enthusiast platform for sure.

I've got a 580 non cu I can work with to get started. I have yet to freeze a card

Patch 03-28-2011 02:52 PM

Freeze a card. More fun than freezing CPU's.

Can't explain why. Just is.

Neuromancer 03-28-2011 03:58 PM

Definitely more boints in cards than CPUs.

I like 2D myself, I just don't understand 3D well enough lol

Working on a stock pile of GPUs though. Hopefully I will be an April Fool :)

Splave 03-28-2011 04:01 PM

I feel like its harder to do 3d, 2 pots so boints come easier :D

Witchdoctor 03-28-2011 04:52 PM

I prefere 3D .....

They simply are key essencials for teams league competition

Maybe rev 4 will not make them as pivitol

Far more difficult as well. Or maybe even CPU was when I started but now CPU seems childs play but when I tried freezing the card, there were all kinds of problem. Have to definitely learn a lot as far as freezing GPU is concerned. OCM we can share our notes when you start, even I froze my card for the first time just a week ago with very mediocre results
Though get the Fat Kingpin pot, it seems to me my Piotres pot is not able to keep up with GTX 580 heat. Next stop for me would be that pot as well.

Chuchnit 03-29-2011 12:56 AM

UD7 & 2600k coming down range. :D

Kal-EL 03-29-2011 01:03 AM

Good going chuch

Chuchnit 03-29-2011 01:44 AM

Splave 03-29-2011 04:17 AM

holy $hit witch, make it rain

GeorgeStorm 03-29-2011 04:25 AM

Mad submission spree witchy!
Am hoping to do something similar as I'm having a SB setup for a couple of weeks over the holidays that I'm planning to use to push some cards I've collected over the last couple of months ;)
