with out a 6ghz Hassy or Skylake the 285 will be a moot point if looking for boints, if looking just to have some fun it would be a cool card to bench, I would not pay more than 70 shipped for the card
|
Time to look on ebay and craigslist for some parts now lol
|
After browsing the webz i came to the conclusion.... I dont know what i want lol
Im stuck at this point |
What are your objectives, do you have an objective ?
There are lots of things you can do depending on what you like to do. Obviously if you have a large budget and like cutting edge you can do well benching new gen hardware. That is my passion. You can also pound on old hardware and be effective in the CPU arena. However if benching older GPU's you really need to have a newer gen chip that screams as 01 thru 06 and AM really benefit from CPU speed as opposed to GPU speed, if you have both you can really capitalize on a lot of boints. If boints are not what you are after it does not really matter what you are overclocking, just have fun doing it. I have recently stopped competing and now enjoy ambient overclocking just for the fun of it. |
I want to get some ln2 runs but on a small budget, i still have a g3258 but cant remeber what board i have. Also using 2 sticks of my ddr3 triple channel ram.
If you were to bench what system would you put together? I already have a 850w psu and an ssd for os |
I would get a AsRock OC Formula with a Intel 6700K.
This platform will do well benching old cards at high CPU speeds This will keep you GPU expenses down while reaping max hardware points Also get into competitions as that is a large part of the game today |
Going to check the used market for deals. All i need is dd4 - board - cpu
|
Good luck,
if you ever need any GPU's let me know Thinking I have just aboput all of them ....... lol Even have two working GTX 480's ......... lmao |
Could be a really good deal for you, be sure to read the listing completely before buying.
I'll admit it's kinda tempting since it sounds like he just has a bad CMOS battery but you never know. The fact I already have one keeps me from going for it so here it is. http://www.ebay.com/itm/ASRock-Z77-O...wAAOSwQoFWPklG Good luck! |
Well i offered him something for it, not getting close to his asking price since they go for $135+.
Time to play the waiting game. |
