Did you really break 250 bclock? WOW!! I wonder about that cbb. Seems like the temp changes from mobo to mobo as much as it does cpu's.

DrNip 06-01-2009 04:30 AM

I had to stop and scoop the DICE out of the pot 5 times last night due to the temps being -50 to -60 degrees. As soon as it fell below -50 we were cool and it would start. Now it would run at -50 to -60 just wouldn't boot. Big pain in my ass I tell ya.

No I didn't hit that high chuchnit. It was really 238 BCLK but somehow went to a mult of 22 but CPUz reported it at 21 mult which didn't pass verification. What I think I was doing wrong or at least holding me back 1-2 more BCLK was my QPI Frequency was too high. I didn't realize it until my last scoop of DICE and I was already booted. Temps were at -52 and I knew if I restarted it would cold bug. But I had no option so I restarted it. COLD FCUKING BUG!!! It wouldn't boot so my night was done as I was out of DICE. :( Maybe next time.

What's sad is it's the mobos out holding this chips back. I can hit 4.85ghz on air but on DICE I can only do .1ghz more than I could on air? Double WTF. I can't wait until newer and better mobos drop as I see 5.5ghz or more w/ 920 D0's in the future.

Looks like the Classified doesn't suffer from these cold issues, just by what I've seen at XS so far. Wouldn't it be great to have one of those boards?:popcorn:

Which Evga X58 is better? The non-nf200 or the nf200? Doesn't seem to be in stock at Evga anyhow.

Chuchnit 06-01-2009 04:55 AM

Well that totally sucks buddy. I just know I've read that these i7 mobos are about as inconsistant as the chips for different cb's. Seems like guys are saying same chip has -xxx cb on a mobo and -xxx on b mobo.

Sadly unless there is an EO stepping or something I think the classified will be the pinnacle for mobos for some time. Everything on it was spared no expense and made of the best parts for overclocking. I just don't see a company spending the money to top it. That of course could change with the new revision of the nb?? When is that coming out?

DrNip 06-01-2009 05:24 AM

They both are knocking the skin off the ball supes. I will prolly go w/ the nf200 as I have seen more out of the parks with it. :D

Just got to throw some papers for a month or so. :(

Looks like newegg has some in stock. Man it'd be cool to snag one of those. I think it's the nf200 board too!

Tried doin some more overclockin on this piece of, pardon the language, shit mobo tonight with no luck. Damn thing does some squirrly stuff now. Every reboot it once to cut off, then cut back on and load as well as being stupid with the BCLK's over 220. Will be out of the game for about a month or at least the overclockin game. Got to save $700 for my new mobo and RAM. Do look for a video or pics of the destruction of this mobo when the new one drops. :D

Hey found this thread. Nice results Dnip !!

I haven't seen many cold issues on the Classified. On the runs I made with my D0 I was hitting -130c but ended up at -110c as that seemed to be the sweet spot.

Problem is at -110c to -130c it was drinking a lot of LN2 and about froze my F1 up after a few hours of that.

Makes me wonder how much LN2 the F1 would suck down running a AMD chip at max LN2 temps :rofl
