I must misunderstand what the eraser is doing if I used so little (then again.. after seeing the exorbitant lengths some of these guys go to with paper towels and all that) well I ain't been to -170C yet so cant compare... but with DIce.. it just dont get that frosty...and minimal insulation is needed. I had to expose a metal object cooled to a DIce temps to see any frost at all.. hell even my styrofoam cup siting on the desk full of DIce powder got only a catina of frost on it and I could still grab it with my barehand.. not a white styrofoam either.. a thin one... |
i fear water....LOL
i had problems before...it won't happen again :D i make sure i compress the eraser onto the board...but really its not needed but...heck if it can be done...8hrs is nothing...i' just double everything :) |
Yeah, I use a shit-ton of eraser as well. Better safe than sorry, even under dice.

I had never used ln2 on a card before yesterday and holy CRAP the whole thing was solid ice when I was done
I will definitely add some more eraser before next time, high humidity here is a killer. BTW I have the bios from my card saved, if anyone wants to check it out pm me. |
yeah in NY was epic frost too, had about 1/2 inch of ice on the backside in half an hour at -160 lol
rom thats probably the cleanest mount job I have ever seen, kudos. |
Imma fill up the dewar today and try again with the lightning. This time Ill insulate better and keep it around -100c and see if it likes it warmer.

This thing is going back to the egg, fuck this massive POS card in its over-hyped bunghole
|
Well thats just sucks, has no one had good results with this highly hyped card?
