kikicoco1334 11-19-2011 03:41 PM

dude not a single fuck is working on this board, i already called a buddy he may drop off a 780i evga off to me tonight

Mr.Scott 11-19-2011 03:53 PM

Watch your god dam language.
It's shorting some where. You just have to find it.

kikicoco1334 11-19-2011 04:15 PM

Sry man just kinda pissed, for the time it takes for me to find out where the short is on in the socket, I gonna have to use that 780i for now

kikicoco1334 11-19-2011 07:45 PM

I think this is God's way of saying "Fuck you too(u) you ain't gonna ever use the water cooler EVER!" the 780i is keep on having memory issues even if I change out different rams FML!

Neuromancer 11-19-2011 08:02 PM

Make sure you did not overtighten the block? LGA is not a big fan of being crushed.

kikicoco1334 11-19-2011 11:49 PM

Yeah, I monna look at that when i get up in the morning.....

the 780i is just will not boot pass C1 which is a memory issue

MaadDaawg 11-20-2011 06:10 AM

couple things.

several decades ago I was doing a build, and it wouldn't boot no matter what I did. This was back in the days of DOS, and switches, and jumpers... no PnP  FINALLY ended up elmer's glueing a paper washer on top of each standoff before I mounted the board. Started right up no probs - maybe that's where your short is too??

also, I have a full set of waterblocks for a 780i That I'd be willing to let you BORROW.... or buy DS LMK

Try the washers - they are made out of heavy dute paper that looks the same as shipping envelopes. MicroCenter has them. Prolly an ofice supply too. OR, hope depot sells nylon washers that would work.

Neuromancer 11-20-2011 09:03 AM

Yeah office supply stores carry them and they should be self adhesive. They are used to reinforce 3 ring binder inserts

kikicoco1334 11-20-2011 11:03 AM

this has become a huge disaster for me

Rich, you are right on me over tightening the block, but now the board is still showing C1 error time to time if i clear the CMOS long enough it'll give me the 1D error i am almost 100% sure it's the memory controller which i am FUCKED!!

no rig no fun for me! oh well RMA time!
