ps its from a p4 dell my first comp i got before i started to build my own :p |
SSDs make the differnce in the time it takes to copy waza. The idea behind copy waza (copy technique) is that you do not access the HDD for the bench. So no... SSDs do not make a differnce except in the time it takes to prep for superpi.
Waza makes 0 to -15% differnce in pifast when i tried it....(IE actually caused it to slow down a few times for me. But I did not try it alot.) |

Also my game plan of using the Maximus P55 board for some PiFast action is pretty much dead. I can't boot any ram in the first channel. I think it needs to go home back to mama for a RMA. :D ;) |

asus p6x58d premium gskill trident 2000 cas 9 i just ordered a R3E today cuz i cant run cas 7 2000+ for nothing tryed 1.8v , 1.65v qpi volt so hope its the mb that sucks cuz i ran 18.67 like 5 times in a row ill post it tomorrow kind of waiting for the R3E :D |
Faster than me :( I tried 5-6-5 at 1440, 6-6-6 at 1740ish and 7-7-7 at~2000 (I forget...exactly) and cant get faster than 18.78 :(
Run uncore to 4250, and QPI craps itself after ~3800+.. I thought disabling link fast would help since QPI is not 2D specific but MAN did that hurt my scores... Hmm I have not tried over 1.5 QPI PLL yet though... |
what xp are you using ?
and my mb doesnt have qpi pll volt its qpi dram something lik that |

Not seeing any difference, except XP has more stuff running in the background ;) (only 1 more process IIRC) Still not home, I definitely will be tomorrow to watch my sister's kids that night, so after 830 EDT I should get some more play time. Was really hoping to get home tonight but stopped working at 10PM and it was too late to run to the 'pot and get more caulk. Quote:
Yeah dunno why but that happens on intel and AMD... people call the BUS clock on intel the QPI clock. and on AMD the hypertransport clock. (AMD is kind of close, it is actully HTREF ) |

I am using Tiny XP v9 available under my name in the ftp. Here are my bios screens for the Classified/Gulftown if it is of any help to anyone. I know the vcore is a little high...I need to do some voltage adjustments since I found that defective psu.

Argh I want to go home!!!! NO more reading this thread till I am there!!
|
Changed vcore to 1.45 volts and vtt to 1.40 volts - seems still a little high but it won't bench any lower vtt. Considering the hell this chip has been through it may not be the norm, but what it needs. (ambient cooling)

I'm not going to win this but still going to tweak the hell out of it and polish up my skills in the mean time. Shaved another 1 1/2 sec off my time.
