you using IE or Fx?

Try an alternate browser for added security

Opera is great and really lets you dial in the security easily

No need for script block just tell Opera to do it... or ask if you want too.. etc I allow scripts and block 3rd party cookies...

Hell Opera is a developers browser you can even build custom CSS to override anywebpage and make it look like what you want including text mode :)

been looking at internet security 2011 ..this is usually with the anti-virus and internet protection...

1yr subscriptions:

norton internet security 2011 - 70$
panda internet security 2011 - 70$
kaspersky internet security 2011 - 70$
f-secure internet security 2011 (24mo) - 99$
avg internet security 2011- 55$

big bucks....sheesh...

Hondacity 10-01-2010 05:34 AM

so i got the panda....it was able to remove the 25 spyware...

eset didn't get the 25 spywares ...weird...

the panda system tray icon looks kinda ok...lol

surprised no one here uses Malwarebytes. That paired with Avast or Avira is pretty solid.

Hondacity 10-01-2010 06:44 AM

i tried malwarebytes before....i had a bad trojan that time...it couldn't remove it. malwarebyte+ccleaner was recommended by my company's it group.

eset was better that time. eset was able to remove it.

these scanners are evolving. and the virus are evolving. i dunno. i just use what works.

It's the chicken and the egg... a cycle... scanners evolve to beat the infections, and vice-versa...

Malware protection is meerly a crutch. I only use it on the lappy and the htpc, since others use it for God knows what. On the gamer and fileserver, AV/AS software can gtfo. I have yet to see any kind of infection just "jump" into a HDD.. it has to come from somewhere....

Kal-EL 10-01-2010 03:34 PM

Call me a hippie but I don't use protection at all. I'm just careful where I stick my connection.
