Thanks. I'm sure I'll have to run 2x4890 in "sli" for some benches.

Crossfire ;)

OCM

I know but I want to run them in sli for a change.

So can I use 2 ATI cards on the Ultra?

Mr.Scott 11-30-2010 03:07 PM

No.
2 Nvidia, yes.
Multiple ATI cards = Crossfire
Multiple Nvidia cards = SLI
They're not interchangable. The Ultra D supports SLI so you'd need Nvidia cards. Either that or find a good Crossfire board and work in that platform.

I don't need to use 2 cards. I just got this board to have a good benchable 939 system. I just bought these for it as well. Should be fun.

I have a 4200+ coming with the board tomorrow, but for benchmarks are you better off with larger L2 cache or does that not matter? (the Opty170 only runs with single channel memory configuration)

Why does your 170 only run in single channel? There is no reason it should.

Bad IMC?

That will hurt you in spi.

I loved my first 4200. Managed 3GHz on air. Back when I was first learning how to OC better than my peers. Pushed for 3.1 and *crash* and would never go past 2.7ish after that. *sigh
