Broke the barrier. This is with no tweaks done.

And so you did I see! Nice runs Nip:D

Sweet run!! i7 completely own 32m :D

Man, I see why i7 is the king of the roost. I'm looking forward to learning the new ways of teh force ;)

Surprised no one has mentioned this. On Nehalem, 2GB sticks are 4-6 seconds faster than 1GB sticks everything else equal.

maxmem=600 is a good value to start with.

The gains from CW aren't huge, usually a few seconds. I'd start with 1896MB and CDT enabled. This provides some gains on most systems but can still be heavily tweaked for further improvement.

Nip.

Only tweaks I know about are all for 8M or higher. 1M really there is nothing you can do but get taht CPU speed up.

32M is very memory reliant, so getting that running great is helpful

The thing that spitweaker is trying to do (incorrectly) is the old copywazza trick.

Have 2 partitions on your bench drive. And grab one large file from your second partition to the SPI partition. Then run your bench. Most popular file sizes I have seen are 5GB and 7+GB.

Setting PF to a second drive in the 80-90MB range is helpful, as is the maxmem=512 tweak.

The theme tweak aleady mentioned also.

Bear in mind I have done none of these, but will try them all before I go extreme cooling.

Let me clear a few things up...

There are quite a few tweaks for 1M ;)

Copy waza is a completely system subjective tweak. There is no hard and fast rule for what will work. Also you want to transfer from pi drive > non pi drive > pi drive. Maxmem is similarly system dependent 512, 600, 640 all have different characteristics as to how it affects 32m.

Superpi tweaker was made by an awesome pi bencher with input from some of the best in the world. There is *nothing* wrong with it.

Use silver luna for 1M and olive luna for 32M ;)

Pagefile doesnt help my scores at all, but if you implement it the most common value is 512MB PF on non-pi drive.

A few more chest hairs poppin loose :D fight12

Thanks for the edification.

I was just regurgitating enough that Nip could google the stuff he needed. Since no one else brought it up... I felt obliged :)

Tried out spitweaker. I am a n00b and it added 6 seconds to my pi time.

My old faithful trick on 1M seems to work with 32M although the second trick does not .

I run 16k twice before running 1M. Than I run 1M again. makes a nice difference.

2x16k before 32M seems to make a difference of a few seconds on 32M (for me dropped me from 18m 37s to 18m 31s) as well. running back to back 32M though was slower. Tired of running it right now LOL I think 6 hours of Pi is enough for one night. Asus board is crap, 2350ish is my max NB speed. Again my cheaper crappy foxconn board does better WITHOUT having CPUNB controls *sigh Time to upgrade.

Happy enough though. My first 32m time was almost a full minute slower than my current best on the same hardware :) I nice ~8% improvement overall :)

EDIT: Oh maxmem and system cache mode definitely helped :)
