mobo oc doesn't get points. it would be nice to get points for it though.

So the general consensus says that the mobo must be cold bugged. Correct?

I think I'll try setting up in the garage today where it's not quite so cold. I hated seeing my new baby running @ 40+C last night. :scared:

EDIT: I got smart for minute.............I set the board and PSU up inside a 6" deep clear rubbermaid container, so I can move it around more easily when it bugs out again. I may use the heatgun if necessary.

Fun stuff going on there ny. Keep it up.

You bet, brother. :D

Update guys: I don't think it was the board. I put a coffee cup warmer under the HD, which keeps in up ~22C....thing ran great!!!....I was out there about an hour or so KILLING superpi(25.2sec), I can't wait to submit that score. :cool3:

Then I went for max overclock again @ 1.63v and was astounded at the difference a nice cold NY day can make. I'm going to validate 3.6GHz before the day is done. :taunt:

Glad you got it sorted :)

New problem with the board. When I increased the vcore to 126% and saved and went to boot up it just shut down. Now it powers for a split second when I push the button and shuts right back off.

What does this mean? I guess the board could be CB even though I think the HD was the problem before. I'm freezing the cpu socket now.

Help please.

Kal-EL 12-14-2010 05:35 PM

Either the board is crapping out or the psu went to shit the bed. Keep tinkering till you find out which one...
