Now I am beginning to wonder if Evga knew this all along and is the reason for not releasing any of their motherboards for this platform. :cool3:

I doubt it, I mean, looking at anandtech, intel say failure rate is 5-15% over 3 years.
So it can't be that bad.
And I don' see how they could have known?

Looks like some problem with the SATA controller...

Interesting..

All I can tell you is I have lost every ssd/hdd install I have prepared for this mb...I have never had that kind of luck with any other platform and I used to swap drives between platforms with no problems.

So I guess it is up to us to contact Asus and get another mb?

recall only affects "some desktop boards based on Intel P67 chipset,"
Waiting on comprehensive list...............

So far I haven't found any sata problems or lost any OSes with my UD5 so I'm crossing my fingers. Seems like my board is doing fine, except for the memory (hypers) compatibility issues :argh: which may or may not eventually be fixed via bios update. Think its time to invest in some Gskills.

Hondacity 01-31-2011 09:06 AM

what is your sata controller.....
