I usually use a lightened Win XP 64bit Pro install.

start there :good:

Had my retail copy of xp 32 beating my taiserver install the other day. Can't imagine if I put winlite to it.

Wazza and all of that are fine. I am referring to tweaks that Trick the os or benchmark from a timing perspective to believe that time was passing slower than it actually did.

In other words cheating. Like using a higher clock frequency and dropping cpu frequency to make the alloted clcok speed minimum.

In normal words, only one of 3 are going to win (we know who they are). As it is all about the tweaks. OCAers dont cheat, it would mean instant expulsion. Tweaking though is shared heavily and expect the top 20 to all be contenders at the bot for that GHz :)

WinFLP FTW!

My benching board has an NF200 chip on it now.

My goal is to beat Ricks semp140 on my 890GX setup :)
Hoping he accepts the challenge for a win 7 HTPC ready OS bench. IE whatever you tweak spi for must still work as an HTPC.

This bench competition is for Overclockaholics family ONLY.... knowone can beat you but your own teammates, and if you feel they will win then why not ask them for help? maybe they can give you some pointers on what to look at or what you can tweak to make things a lil better...

you guys are a team. this competition is small and you should use this as a learning possability for you guys to learn the bench and get better at it.

whats the worst that could happen? they say no to helping you and your still in same position right? ;)

but so far from what Ive seen you guys are a pretty tight team and i think the most skilled members here seem quite willing to help.

are you willing to listen and learn?

I believe anyone can win this. Not only is there an Intel but there is an AMD contest which opens the gates to the other side of overclocking which I have never seen an AMD contest here yet. If there was then i must have been a sleep for it.

I am confused by this ?? How is changing these two parameters considered cheating :Dizzy: Isn't this the reason people buy unlocked procs, to have more options?

Did I read this wrong ?

DrNip 07-21-2011 04:43 AM

I think what he was meaning was running the test at a higher frequency and then dropping it back to the 4.0ghz cap after the test has complete e.g. rog connect or whatever it may be.
