I would hope I could use my Mushkin Redline 1600 MHz 6-7-6-18 3X2 Gb, or my Kinston HyperX 2000 MHz...both brand new. I have some other DDR3 but I can't remember off hand what it is LOL

I would actually be interested to see how well that redline works in the Gigabyte board, I went to 1866 Dominator GT's and it opened this board right up.

I'll let you know how it works on the R2E.........and if I have any problem with the Assus RMA I'll be trying a Gigabyte board next.

Hell, I might even give the EVGA board a try...must be good enough for an email rig. I hear it overclocks well but has latency problems that kill it in benches. Anyone know if that is a truth or just a theory from EVGA haters?

The RMA for the second board starts when you bought the first one. What a rip. I think that is total BS. Now I have to go through the Asus RMA process.....I can't F$!@$ing wait to see what that is like.

If your replacement with New Egg was for replacement they probably turned the RMA into repair after they issued the initial RMA. They did this to me with a P5Q deluxe. The just changed the serial number. I could see where the sub zero prep was exactly as I sent it back. I also went through this with my R2E and to be sure I did not get the same one back Imarked the back of the MOBO and sure enough they returned the bad board to me as a replacement.
After speaking with a manager the refunded my money in full for both boards and I purchased new ones.

I never even prepped that board. It was truely DOA. They may very well have sent me the same board back with a new serial number as it behaved exactly as the first one.....I sent an interesting email to them. As much money as I spend there they better reconsider what they are doing. I told them I wanted a refund for the second one and that I would buy a different board. Thanks for the info.

Newegg has definitely lost a lot of it's once great customer service, I look everywhere else I can think of before buying from them now as they will do a 300% price hike overnight.

Wow what a pitty! I had V1 when core i7's where first released and it was a wonderful experience easily overclocked my core i7 to 4.3ghz stable and no hiccups. It's too bad these V2's aren't working as good.
